Position summary:
The Senior Developer leads development projects and delivers best practice technical solutions for a range of clients, acting as both a hands-on engineer and a trusted technical advisor.
Key responsibilities:
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) and strategic advisor for our clients and internal teams.
- Research, problem-solve, and determine technical solutions that meet client needs.
- Attend client meetings to understand business goals, needs, and project requests.
- Partner with account directors and project managers to translate business needs into technical requirements and help estimate project scope, cost, and resourcing
- Build core integrations, platform customizations, and automations
- Provide ongoing maintenance and support for existing client platform solutions.
- Take on other duties as assigned.
How we measure success:
This is a 75% billable role and performance is evaluated against:
- Gross margin percent per project
- Average billing rate and average effective (realized) rate per project
- Overall project profitability
- Actual hours versus budgeted hours
- Planned versus actual project duration
- Industry awards earned per project
Skills + experience:
- Minimum of 5 years of development experience in relevant technologies with prior experience in a digital agency setting highly desirable.
- Ability to lead multiple complex projects providing technical direction throughout the project lifecycle.
- Experience with Agile methodology, working closely with project managers to plan, organize and deliver projects.
- Ability to read and debug code, with experience writing code for e-commerce or PIM systems preferred.
- Track record of working with clients to turn business requirements into technical specifications.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to build strong client relationships and maintain a strong client focus.
- A collaborative, team first mindset.
- Adaptability and comfort working in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift.
Technical skills:
- Languages + frameworks: .NET C#, ASP.NET, MVC, and JavaScript.
- Data: T-SQL, Entity Framework or similar ORM.
- APIs: REST or SOAP development, integration with third party APIs.
- Infrastructure: multi-tier web applications, Azure experience, management of web and database servers.
- Tooling: version control (Git, SVN), extensive knowledge of Microsoft development software and products.

- This is a 100% remote work, U.S. based role. While the position is remote first, there may be occasional travel for key client meetings, project workshops, or team gatherings. These instances are limited and scheduled with plenty of notice. (Working schedule in EST is preferred).
