About the Role

Monks is expanding with key creative roles. We are looking for a technically brilliant and experienced senior designer who has a knack for conceptual thinking and can generate exceptional creativity across any and every contemporary discipline of execution. You need to be able to creatively direct projects from concept all the way into execution. You should have a knack for the visual side of storytelling, have 360 degree campaign experience and to be broadly versed across creative disciplines, as well as understanding of platform-specific content. 

This key role will be working directly in a client facing team, building out strategic thought and clever ideas that have lasting impact. You will be part of building and defining a new breed of creative agency with some of the most innovative digital, social, technology and production expertise at your disposal.


Responsibilities:

  • You’ll join a team that is dedicated to one or more clients, and be part of an award-winning global agency with incredible people. 
  • As part of our team, you’ll be collaborating with creatives, copywriters, designers, animators, developers as well as with PMs, operations managers and a lot more talented Monks from all over the world, working across time zones.
  • Presenting directly to our clients, you’ll be shaping and selling great concepts with enthusiasm and conviction.
  • You’ll create not just what the client asked for but what their campaign needs, partnering with strategists to ensure alignment and working with other designers and creatives to produce beautifully designed and decks that are in line with the project’s objectives and requirements. 
  • In your versatility, you will be responsible for campaign visuals across different touchpoints and mediums (social, POS, DOOH, e-commerce, video content, UI/UX design, etc). Both digital and print experience will be utilised. At times, you’ll update storyboards for video content, adapt existing materials and originate new concepts from scratch.
  • Leading or working on multiple projects at once, you go above and beyond each brief to push what’s possible on both a creative and technical level. You’ll cover conception to completion in accordance with deadlines.
  • You can forecast production and concepting issues from the start, asking the right questions to the client and team and collaborating on solutions to future problems.
  • You have a passion and interest in developments in the realm of AI - particularly in image generating and tools that increase productivity and assist in creative ideation. 
  • You will have exciting prospects and possibilities of automation and will shift your design process to align with a client’s needs for greater and faster output. 
  • Collaborate with, mentor and lead Junior and Intermediate Designers that work alongside you on projects and provide constructive creative feedback. Delegate tasks according to their strengths and skill level, while also nurturing their growth opportunities and involvement


About You
The essentials:

  • Proficient (English) presentation and communication skills.
  • As showcased in your portfolio, you bring at least 4 years’ worth of high-level experience with strong creative and technical design skills.
  • You're a master of Figma, relevant Adobe software (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) and comfortable designing in Google slides.   
  • Work flexibility from home and in our office in Hilversum.
  • An impressive conceptual outlook and ability to produce original ideas beyond the brief.
  • You are nice with positive vibes that can inspire co-workers. You are a team player and value everyone’s involvement and overcome any cultural or language barriers with kindness and respect. 
  • You have a growth mindset, strong problem-solving skills, and are willing to go the extra mile if needed. You remain open to feedback and constructive critique.
  • You are a great collaborator and communicator, and are able to adapt to demanding deadlines and challenging client feedback. 
  • You have a desire to learn new tools, processes and developments in AI and automation.
