Provide technical guidance and deliver door and closure system designs. Generate concepts and master sections, perform DMU and DFMEA, define joinery and assembly sequences, ensure manufacturing/assembly readiness, own components/subassemblies, coordinate the team, and meet delivery quality and schedule targets using CATIA/Unigraphics.

Job Responsibilities:

Designation: Senior Design Engineer

Role Purpose

To provide technical guidance to the team members to deliver project specific outputs based on the work packages identified by team lead with expected level of quality and within acceptable timeframe.

Reporting to- Assistant Manager/ Manager

Responsibilities:

Should be able to generate new concepts/master sections Should have hands on experience in complete system e.g. Door, closures etc.

Key Performance Indicators:

Timely and accurate delivery Working discipline. Components and sub assembly ownership.

Role Requirement:

Educational Qualification:

BE / DME in Mechanical/production/automobile stream

No. of years of work experience: If BE then 8- 10 years If DME then 10-12 years

Critical Skill Sets

Software proficiency Catia/ Unigraphics ·
Basic Vehicle architecture (monocoque, space frame, cab-on-frame) ·
Creation and understanding of master sections ·
Joinery definitions and assembly sequence. ·

Skills Required

BE in Mechanical/Production/Automobile stream (8-10 years experience)
DME in Mechanical/Production/Automobile stream (10-12 years experience)
Hands-on experience with complete vehicle systems, especially doors and closures
Ability to generate new concepts and master sections
Proficiency in CATIA
Proficiency in Unigraphics
Experience with Digital Mock Up (DMU)
Understanding of basic vehicle architectures (monocoque, space frame, cab-on-frame)
Creation and understanding of master sections
Joinery definitions and assembly sequence knowledge
Vehicle manufacturing and assembly process knowledge
Design Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (D-FMEA) experience
Strong communication skills
