About the opportunity:

We’re looking for a Senior DBA to join our Backend Infra Team, which focuses on building and maintaining the core infrastructure that powers WOO X’s trading, asset, and order systems 24/7. The team is dedicated to optimizing system reliability, database performance, and scalability under extreme market conditions.

What you’ll be working on:

• Manage core databases supporting matching engine, user assets, and order systems — covering daily operations, backups, restores, and high-availability configuration.
• Diagnose and optimize performance issues including slow queries, execution plans, and lock contention to ensure ultra-low latency and high throughput under peak loads.
• Design and implement high-availability and disaster recovery architectures — including replication, clustering, read-write separation, and multi-region synchronization.
• Contribute to database automation initiatives by developing or enhancing DBA tools to support CI/CD integration, automatic deployment, monitoring, and alert systems.
• Define and enforce data security and compliance standards covering access control, encryption, audit logging, and incident prevention.
• Partner closely with Backend and Trading Engineering teams to ensure cross-service data consistency and transactional integrity across order, asset, and settlement modules.
• Provide on-call support and rapid incident response to resolve production issues during high-volatility market events.

About you:

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science or a related field.
• Expert-level knowledge of MySQL; hands-on experience with TiDB, MongoDB, or other NoSQL/distributed databases is a plus.
• Proven experience designing and optimizing databases for large-scale systems (supporting tens of millions of users, billions of orders, and terabytes of data).
• Deep understanding of high-availability and replication mechanisms such as MGR, GTID replication, ProxySQL, Orchestrator, and sharding strategies.
• Strong scripting and tool development skills in Shell, Python, or Golang for automation and monitoring.
• Business-aware mindset with a sense of ownership — able to identify data-layer issues quickly and understand their business impact.
• Experience with on-call rotation and emergency incident response in production environments.
• Excellent communication skills in English and Mandarin; based in Mandarin-speaking regions (e.g., Taiwan or other Asia hubs).
