SENIOR DATA SCIENTIST
PPG Industries, Inc., headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA has a work-at-home Senior Data Scientist position (with the ability to telecommute with appropriate telecommuting systems; the remote worksite must be within commuting distance of Pittsburgh, PA for weekly trips to the corporate office) responsible for contributing to specific business projects utilizing machine learning, computer vision, advanced statistical analysis, data mining, optimization, and data visualization methods to drive product and service development at the intersection of digital and physical sciences. Specific duties include: (i) devising and applying algorithms related to deep learning and reinforcement learning as well as evaluating AI/ML readiness and providing data to bridge gaps; (ii) visualizing data to discover and communicate opportunities in order to develop and scale AI solutions; and (iii) employing machine learning subfields including mulitvariate data analysis, clustering-based models, classification, regression models, and multi-objective optimization.
Must have a master’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Data Science, Finance, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related field plus two (2) years of experience in a related position.
Experience must include: (i) two (2) years with machine learning techniques; (ii) two (2) years with statistical tools including Python and R; (iii) two (2) years with data visualization and story telling; and (iv) one (1) year working with SQL databases.
Must have any experience with: (i) building machine learning models and optimization models; and (ii) Python coding.
Experience can be concurrent.
Must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally up to 20% of the time to client, vendor, and/or other PPG office locations.
