Senior Data Scientist

Job Description:

Senior Data Scientist, 3M Company, Maplewood, Minnesota (hybrid): Invent and develop data science technologies that create new opportunities or support existing 3M industrial adhesive and tape products. Use a variety of programming languages to quickly develop and optimize proof of concept algorithms for commercialization. Lead and collaborate with research teams across the enterprise to build capabilities and applications that use scientific, mathematical, and computational skills.

Master’s in Data Science, Computer Science, or Information Science required.

Must have one year of work or internship experience or coursework or projects related to coursework in:

• (i) Working with deep learning, machine learning (ML), natural language processing (NLP), data science, computer vision, and artificial intelligence (AI);

• (ii) Supporting full life cycle application development within an agile framework, including requirements gathering, technical design, implementation, testing, documentation, and maintenance;

• (iii) Working on preprocessing data, analyzing, model building, and deployment;

• and (iv) Python for data analysis and backend development.

Experience may be gained concurrently.

Position may be eligible for telecommuting one day per week from within commuting distance to Maplewood office.

Pay Range: $97,032 - $120,838 per year.
