The Senior data Scientist position will require formulating, suggesting, and managing data-driven projects to obtain actionable insights to further the company’s business interest, ultimately creating a data-driven culture with associated new revenue streams and gain in internal efficiencies.
Main Responsibilities
- Building innovate data-driven products through existing and new data sources.
- Liaison with key role-players/ users of data insights
- Linking potential revenue streams to new products built.
- Participate in continuous improvement efforts to improve data quality and speed up delivery.
- Troubleshoot data quality issues.
- Transform data for the purpose of model building and analyses.
- Identify new opportunities for data driven business in data science and analytics.
- Respond to immediate needs and pull ad hoc data sets requests.

Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Master’s degree in data science, statistics, computer science, or equivalent.
Experience
- 3 – 5 years’ experience in the data science and/or data analysis field.
- Practical knowledge or know how in agricultural field advantageous.
- Proven track record of successful models/products.
Other specific requirements.
- Proficiency in Python, PySpark, SQL and associated database technologies.
- GIS and spatial data handling will be beneficial
- Experience working with Azure, API integrations, and JSON data formats will be beneficial.
NOTE: Candidates MUST reside in South Africa and must be legally authorized to work in South Africa on a full time basis
