We’re a hybrid company, with ⅔ of our team in Vancouver and the rest distributed. For those in Vancouver, we have an office in Gastown that we expect people to be at three days a week. About the Role:
As a Data Scientist at Quandri, you will help establish the statistical foundation behind our AI and analytics work. In this role, you’ll design and execute experiments, apply hypothesis testing and causal inference, and ensure our models are solving the right business problems. You’ll review and validate statistical methods used across ML/AI teams, oversee production model performance, and lead exploratory analysis to uncover opportunities. By embedding statistical rigor across Intelligence and Engineering, you’ll help us measure customer impact, validate value creation, and drive meaningful business outcomes.
What you'll do:
- Conduct advanced statistical analysis, explore complex datasets to uncover business opportunities, perform market research through data
- Design and execute A/B tests, causal inference studies, and statistical experiments to validate business hypotheses
- Partner with Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Leadership stakeholders to translate business questions into analytical frameworks and data-driven solutions
- Build predictive models, forecasting, impact analysis, statistical models and the systems around them, to support business decision-making
- Identify new analytical opportunities, research emerging methodologies, leverage the AI tools, and drive data science best practices
- Work closely with our team of Data Engineers, ML Engineers, AI Engineers, ML Ops, and Software Engineers to integrate statistical insights and tech review to deliver production systems and analysis
The right person for this role will have:
- Advanced degree (MS/PhD) in Data Science, Statistics, Science, Mathematics, or related quantitative field.
- 4-7 years of experience in data science roles with proven track record of driving business impact through analytics
- Advanced proficiency in Python/R, SQL, statistical/mathematical modeling, machine learning, data analysis, and experimental design
- Strong foundation in statistics, hypothesis testing, regression analysis, time series, and causal inference methodologies
- Experience translating business problems into analytical questions and communicating technical findings to non-technical stakeholders
- Proven ability to communicate complex ideas clearly, collaborate across teams, lead projects from concept to delivery, and inspire others through strong leadership
- Experience in agile, fast moving, and high impact business environments preferred
Bonus points if you have:
- Experience in the insurance industry or with insurance technology products.

Compensation and benefits:
- The range for base pay is $145,000 - $200,000 which is dependent on level of experience, performance and choice of stock option compensation

- Work anywhere in the world for 60 calendar days of the year
- Parental leave top-ups: 6 months for birthing parents, 8 weeks for non-birthing parents (up to $100,000 annual salary)
