About The Role

We’re looking for a Data Scientist to help us build a deeper understanding of our users, detect and prevent fraud, and drive smarter decisions across Product, Risk, and Growth.

You’ll work on everything from designing data models to building predictive systems — helping us leverage data science to shape both product and business strategy.

This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll help lay the foundation of Común’s data science function during one of the most exciting stages of growth.

What You’ll Do
  • Develop models and experiments to identify trends, detect anomalies, and optimize decision-making.

  • Collaborate with Product, Risk, and Growth to design and evaluate A/B tests and predictive systems.

  • Build and maintain data pipelines and tools to support scalable analytics.

  • Translate raw data into insights that improve customer experience and operational efficiency.

  • Contribute to the design of fraud detection, credit, and risk-scoring models.

  • Communicate findings clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For
  • 3–5+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, ideally in fintech or consumer products.

  • Strong background in statistics, modeling, and machine learning.

  • Proficiency in Python or R, with experience using frameworks like pandas, scikit-learn, or TensorFlow.

  • Strong SQL and data visualization skills (Looker, Metabase, or similar).

  • Experience working with cross-functional teams to turn insights into product or operational improvements.

  • Startup mindset: analytical, resourceful, and comfortable working in fast-moving environments.
