As part of Walmart Connect, you’ll be part of building industry defining omni-channel retail analytics capabilities that enable brand advertiser to invest strategically, confidently, and effectively. If you are motivated by complex, purposeful challenges, this role at Walmart Connect could be the fit you’ve been looking for. We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist, to drive advertiser media strategy and performance through advanced statistical modeling and machine learning techniques.
In this fast-growing team, the Sr. Data Scientist will build predictive models, derive media insights, define statistically sound solutions including but not limited to lift analysis, experiment design, incrementality testing, marketing mix models, multi touch attribution, uplift targeting, automated optimization strategies, and advertiser-facing recommendations. This role combines science leadership, cross-functional collaboration, communication, strategic thinking, organizational ability, technical strength, product focus and business understanding.
Location: Not remote. This position will work from our San Bruno, CA or Hoboken, NJ office location. Relocation assistance will be provided if needed.
Responsibilities

Perform hands-on modeling and complex analyses using Python, SQL and/or R
-
Build and enhance media mix models to connect the impact of marketing tactics and business short-term and long-term outcomes

Experience in experimental design for use cases in Search and Display marketing, and experience building causal inference models

Run optimization and simulation scenarios to help provide the marketing investment and allocation recommendations to Marketing leadership and CMO

Present media mix insights

Explain complex modeling approaches in simple terms and develop compelling narratives that connect modeling results with business problems

Partner with cross-functional team to streamline data science solutions

Integrate disparate data sources and leverage state-of-the-art analytics best practices in order to deliver integrated actionable insights to partners and senior leadership around digital marketing optimization

Produce qualitative and quantitative data
Minimum Qualifications
-
Bachelor’s degree in statistics/mathematics, engineering, computer science, economics, or related field
-
5+ years of industry experience in data, analytics, data science role
-
Experience in advertising measurement, including MMM, MTA, A/B testing, and Experiment Design

Experience in Causal inference modeling
-
Proficient coding skills (SQL/Python/R)

Deep knowledge on relational database capabilities

Experience in integrating, structuring, and analyzing large amounts of data from diverse sources

Strong project management skills and attend-to-detail documentation skills.

Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Hive/Hadoop) and modern data visualization tools (Tableau, ThoughtSpot, Looker, etc)

Strong written & verbal communication with the ability to communicate complex technical topics clearly to a range of audiences and to ‘tell a story’ that provides insight into the business

Master’s or PhD degree in statistics/mathematics, engineering, computer science, economics, or related field

Knowledge and experience in building market mix and multi-touch attribution models

Knowledge and experience with advertising, measurement, and/or digital marketing analytics

Hoboken, New Jersey US-10279:The annual salary range for this position is $108,000.00-$216,000.00
San Bruno, California US-08848:The annual salary range for this position is $117,000.00-$234,000.00
Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
