Data Science Manager

Sift Healthcare is seeking a highly accomplished Senior Data Science Manager to lead strategic and technical development areas of our growing data science team. This role will be pivotal in driving the refinement and deployment of Sift’s cutting-edge AI/ML models that address critical challenges in revenue cycle management.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong technical foundation, exceptional leadership skills, and a proven track record of building and managing high-performing data science teams. This role is expected to be a hands-on technical leadership position. Experience working with PII/PHI/HIPAA data is required.

RESPONSIBILITIES  

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.
• Define team objectives, prioritize projects, and manage resource allocation to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
• Drive research and development initiatives to explore new data science applications in revenue cycle management.
• Collaborate with product and engineering teams to translate research findings into production-ready solutions.
• Establish and maintain best practices for data science workflows, including data preparation, model training, and evaluation.
• Conduct and assist in code reviews, pipeline development, debugging, and versioning best practices.
• Communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders clearly and concisely.
• Enhance the development of technical solutions to business problems that generalize and scale, with an extreme focus on execution.
• Stay current on the latest advancements in Data Science and Generative AI.

QUALIFICATIONS

• 5+ years of experience managing high-performing data science teams, preferably in the healthcare or related industry.
• Advanced degree (MS or higher) in applied data science, statistics, economics, computer science, computational natural sciences, or a related field.
• Proven track record of successfully delivering complex AI/ML projects from conception to deployment.
• Strong expertise in machine learning algorithms, statistical modeling, and data mining techniques.
• Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and big data technologies. Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, etc. strongly preferred
• Experience with ML Ops and CI/CD.
• Strong expertise in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic startup environment.
