We are seeking a Senior Data Science Curriculum Developer to lead the development of our data science curriculum. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and refining comprehensive curricula that cater to various learning styles and skill levels, ensuring alignment with industry standards and educational best practices.
As a Senior Data Science Curriculum Developer, you will collaborate closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and educators to create rich, engaging learning experiences. You will leverage your extensive knowledge of data science principles, teaching methodologies, and technology trends to help shape the future of data science education at iSchool.
Key Responsibilities:
- Create engaging and interactive content related to coding and data science for our online learning platform.
- Design structured plans and outlines for advanced courses and curriculums in areas such as:
- Fundamentals of Programming
- Data Science and Machine Learning
- Artificial Intelligence
- Web Development
- Mobile App Development
- Game Development
- Develop advanced lessons, hands-on projects, and comprehensive assessments that support progressive learning objectives.
- Collaborate with tutors and subject matter experts to ensure technical accuracy, pedagogical effectiveness, and alignment with best practices.
- Mentor and guide junior content developers, ensuring growth, quality, and consistency in content creation.
- Manage curriculum development timelines and deliverables to maintain efficiency and high standards.
- Stay updated on the latest trends in data science and programming education for kids and young adults, integrating new tools, languages, and methodologies into the curriculum.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Data Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of proven experience in technical content or curriculum development, with a strong portfolio of projects.
- Advanced knowledge in data science concepts, including data analysis, statistics, machine learning, and AI principles.
- Strong understanding of beginner-friendly programming languages such as Scratch, Python, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
- Basic knowledge of Game Development tools such as Godot and Unity.
- Prior experience in managing or leading a content development team.
- Excellent written and spoken English communication skills.
- Expertise in instructional design and the creation of progressive, modular courses that scaffold from beginner to advanced levels.
- Proven ability to design projects that apply concepts to real-life scenarios, fostering problem-solving and creativity.
- Skilled in designing assessments that accurately measure learning outcomes.
- Ability to use storytelling and practical examples to make abstract programming and data science concepts engaging and relatable.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Prior experience teaching or tutoring coding or data science to children or young adults.
