About Seqana
Seqana is a start-up building digital monitoring, reporting, and verification (MRV) tools using remote sensing and AI to drive soil carbon sequestration and support the transition towards regenerative, climate-preserving agriculture at scale. We are backed by venture capital investors and supported by public funding from ESA and DLR.
Capturing carbon in soils through regenerative agricultural practices is a powerful and still underutilized solution to climate change, with significant co-benefits including improved soil health, water quality, food security, and biodiversity.
Existing MRV solutions for soil carbon are a major driver of cost and complexity in carbon projects and often limit scalability. At Seqana, we combine satellite imagery, an extensive proprietary library of soil datasets, and machine learning to deliver an accurate, cost-effective, and scalable MRV solution for soil organic carbon. Our product enables project developers, agrifood corporations, NGOs, and government entities to credibly measure, quantify, and report the climate impact of regenerative agricultural practices.
The Role
As Seqana scales, we are looking for a highly capable Senior Data Product Manager to serve as the critical bridge between market needs and our advanced technical execution. This role carries a dual mandate essential for our growth:
1. Driving Product Maturity: You will lead the scaling and hardening of our existing data product portfolio (leveraging AI and remote sensing), focusing on standardizing workflows and automating delivery. You will champion the "what" and "why" and act as the crucial translation layer, turning complex user journeys and commercial requirements into technical blueprints and clear system requirements that empower the Engineering team to define and build the “How”.
2. Accelerating Strategic Growth: Independently own and drive significant strategic growth pillars, working directly with the Chief Product Officer to define, validate, and execute new product opportunities. You will be fully accountable for the success of new MVPs and pioneering pilot offerings to expand Seqana’s overall market presence and impact.
In this role, you will have the unique opportunity to balance product maturity with entrepreneurial exploration, directly contributing to Seqana’s growth and impact mission.
Tasks
* Product Operations & Strategy: Translating strategic business objectives into clear system requirements and actionable user stories, ensuring technical blueprints align with scalable architectures to unblock engineering for fast-paced and robust delivery.
* Product Ownership: Take end-to-end ownership of specific segments within our existing product portfolio, overseeing the entire lifecycle from initial discovery through to successful delivery and maintenance.
* Discovery & Iteration: For new, unstandardized workflows and features, operate seamlessly in 'Discovery Mode' alongside Tech, prioritizing rapid testing and iteration over heavy documentation.
* Market Expansion & Impact: Work closely with the Chief Product Officer to explore and validate new product opportunities, expanding Seqana’s market presence and scaling our overall climate impact.
* Insight generation: Own internal dashboard products, by defining the business requirements and metrics that enable data-driven technical strategy, sales narratives, and model performance evaluation.
* Data Insights: Manage internal dashboard products by defining user requirements, generating critical insights for technical strategy, sales narratives, and evaluating model performance.
Requirements
* Technical Literacy: You hold a STEM degree or possess comparable professional experience in a technical setting.
* Product Management Tenure: At least 4 years spent managing products, with a proven ability to with a proven ability to lead and scale technical products.
* Core PM Skills: Proficiency in day-to-day operations, including crafting actionable user stories, overseeing backlogs, juggling roadmap goals with immediate client needs and setting long-term measurable outcomes (OKRs/KPIs).
* Articulate Communication: Strong verbal and written skills, specifically the knack for making scientific and data-heavy concepts accessible.
* Startup Agility: The ability to thrive in an ambiguous, entrepreneurial environment where priorities can shift between long-term vision and rapid delivery.
* Continuous Learning: A proactive mindset focused on self-development and leveraging emerging tools like AI to boost efficiency.
* Linguistic Ability: Proficient in English; knowledge of further languages is considered a benefit.
What Makes You Stand Out (Nice-to-Haves)
