We are currently partnering with a leading Canadian financial institution that is expanding its Core Data Platform team and is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to help deliver multiple high-impact initiatives. This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, take ownership of projects, and contribute technical leadership from day one.
Key Responsibilities- Own data engineering projects end-to-end, ensuring quality and thorough documentation
- Communicate directly with business and technical stakeholders to gather requirements and proactively manage scope changes
- Work independently with minimal supervision while identifying blockers early and proposing solutions
- Provide technical guidance and influence architecture and design decisions
- Represent the engineering team professionally during stakeholder interactions
Requirements
- 5+ years of Data Engineering experience
Strong production experience with:
- Snowflake
- dbt Core and/or dbt Cloud
- Dagster or Airflow
- Python
- Advanced SQL
- AWS and/or Azure
- GitHub Actions
- Terraform
