Who we are 🩵

We’re the people behind global loyalty currency, Avios, and home to two ambitious, growing businesses across Loyalty and Holidays. Each business has its own goals, strategy and team, but collectively we share a purpose: to create the world’s most rewarding experiences for our customers through loyalty programmes, new products and holidays.
We’re on a truly exciting journey of growth and transformation – we’re going places! This is where you come in.

The opportunity ✨

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will lead our Non-Air Redemption Data Team, responsible for all data relating to Avios used by customers to purchase products and services outside of flights.

This role sits at the heart of our data strategy, working across multiple systems, third-party integrations, and complex data sources. You will play a key role in shaping and delivering our Redemption Data Product, ensuring it supports high-impact business decisions and delivers real value to our customers.

This role is based in our London office and follows our hybrid working model, The Blend, with at least two days per week spent in the office.

What you’ll get up to 🌠

As a Senior Data Engineer, you will be a pivotal member of the data product team, leading the design and development of scalable, high-performance data solutions for our Redemption Data Product.

Working closely with analysts, data modellers, engineers, and business stakeholders, you will translate requirements into robust technical solutions that align with our wider business objectives.

In partnership with your Tech Lead, you will provide technical leadership to the team, supporting delivery of the product roadmap through efficient data pipelines, advanced processing frameworks, and reliable analytics solutions. You will take ownership of testing, data quality, and deployment processes to ensure consistent performance and reliability.

You will champion engineering best practice, coding standards, and architectural principles, helping to build a maintainable, high-quality codebase that supports long-term growth.

A key part of your role will be fostering a culture of innovation, learning, and collaboration. You will encourage experimentation, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement across the team and wider business.

You will also evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and tools, ensuring our data platform remains modern, scalable, and competitive.

What we need from you 💡

We are aiming high, and we accept that it is unlikely that any one person will meet every aspect of the brief. Who you are is just as important as what you have done or where you have worked.

So even if you don’t tick every box, or your experience comes from a unique or varied background, we’d still love to hear from you!

  • Proven experience delivering high-quality data products in complex environments.

  • Experience leading and supporting teams of engineers and analysts.

  • Strong understanding of business data models, workflows, and data governance.

  • Solid technical background in cloud-based data engineering and software development.

  • Experience with tools such as Snowflake, AWS, Airflow, DBT/SQLMesh, and Terraform.

  • Proficiency in a development language such as Python, Go, or Scala.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.
