Sportradar is a partner to the top leagues and federations around the world including the NBA, MLB, FIFA and UEFA. This full-time position offers a tremendous opportunity to work with a company that is delivering on-demand sports data with supporting video to nearly 1500 pro, international, and college teams. Our systems are highly complex and contain petabytes of data and video requiring extremely talented engineers to maintain the scale and efficiency of its products.
As a member of the data engineering team, you will contribute to building out our new real-time data pipeline for player tracking basketball data.
Our work environment is geographically distributed, with employees working from home offices. The successful candidate must be comfortable working in a virtual office using online collaboration tools for all communication and interaction in English. We are a globally distributed team, and we work on an asynchronous model which allows flexibility of when and where you want to perform your job, as long as you are able to attend team calls and regular meetings. Personal initiative and a strong work ethic are highly encouraged and rewarded.

Qualifications
Team Objectives & Responsibilities

Design, Build, and Implement generalized large-scale, sophisticated data pipelines for downstream analytics and data science for our products

Lead collaboration with other engineering teams to adopt standard methodologies, drive scalability, and increase consistency across our systems
-
Propose directions to improve operational processes and methodologies
Requirements
-
5+ years of experience working in data engineering or related software field
-
Proficient in Python
-
Demonstrated strength in ETL development and warehousing
-
Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies
-
Excellent problem-solving, analytic, and debugging skills
-
A strong sense of ownership and self-leadership
-
Excellent grasp of software development life cycle and/or agile development environment
Bonus Superpowers:

Experience in building end to end ML engineering infrastructure including feature engineering, model training, model deployment and model inference

Proficiency in Java

Experience with Flink for stream processing

Experience with NiFi for data processing and workflow automation

Experience with Kafka for messaging and real-time data pipeline

Experience working in a remote environment

Love of Sports or Sports data
