Are you a software developer with a focus on data engineering with at least 12 years of experience? Do you want to be part of a team that is helping the government solve major national security challenges in the space domain? We need your help.

Our team is looking for an experienced software/data engineer that has developed enterprise solutions for managing data ingestion, persistence, translation, access, and distribution. In this position, you will be a member of a growing Agile team supporting the development of critical mission applications for the space community as a member of Parsons’ Space Operations Directorate. You will work with software engineers and space analysts to create space situational awareness solutions for the space domain stakeholders.

Required Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or an engineering field with at least 12 years technical experience; relevant experience may be accepted in place of a degree
  • Experience designing, developing, documenting, testing, and debugging enterprise application software
  • Extensive database experience using SQL, No-SQL, data lakes and warehouses, and pre-indexes for enterprise caching (like elastic search)
  • Database schema design and dimensional data modeling
  • Strong knowledge of messaging workflow engines (NiFi, Camel)
  • Knowledge of streaming platforms and message-oriented middleware (Kafka, ActiveMQ)
  • Java application development experience using Spring Boot
  • Experience using object relational mapping (ORM) tools such as Hibernate and Java Persistence API (JPA)
  • Experience working in an Agile software development environment using the Scrum methodology
  • Experience using Docker containers for development and deployment
  • Great interpersonal and communications skills, while establishing and maintaining effective work relationships with team members
  • Must be comfortable working in a fast-paced, flexible environment, and take the initiative to learn new tools and concepts quickly.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills in both spoken and written English
  • Must be a US Citizen due to DoD contract 

Desired Skills

  • Experience developing RESTful web services in micro service architectures
  • Data serialization experience using BSON
  • Experience with test driven development, unit/integration testing (Junit, SonarCube)
  • Experience with Kubernetes runtime environments based in AWS cloud environments
  • Experience deploying software to AWS GovCloud environments
  • Security+ certification
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance

Salary Range: 

$54.38 - $97.88
