We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer (GCP) to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for defining the architecture and standards for data contracts within the company. You will design and implement data contracts, including formats, schemas, validation, and versioning processes.
Main responsibilities:
- Define the architecture and standards for data contracts within the company.
- Design and implement data contracts, including formats, schemas, validation, and versioning processes.
- Implement automated schema and data quality validations.
- Select tools to support the automation of data contracts.
- Establish processes for creating, maintaining, and evaluating data contracts.
- Collaborate with product teams, data engineering, BI, and data owners.
- Support development teams in defining data contracts.
Must-have requirements:
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
- Minimum of 4-5 years of practical experience in Data Engineering, Data Governance, Data Quality, data analysis, or related fields, including experience in independently designing and implementing cross-functional solutions.
- Practical knowledge of data contracts (defining data contracts, quality requirements) and tools supporting contract automation (e.g., OpenAPI/JSON Schema, CI/CD tools, data QA).
- Fluent Polish and English (minimum B2 level).
Nice-to-have requirements:
- Experience in data analysis, processing, and modeling, and knowledge of Data Warehouse and Big Data solution architecture.
- Advanced SQL query skills backed by practical professional experience.
- Experience in designing data models and building data layers.
- Practice in ensuring data quality (testing, monitoring, alerting).
- Experience in technical documentation and code review.
- Experience in independently leading topics requiring collaboration across multiple teams - identifying dependencies, establishing responsibilities, managing blockers, and driving decisions.
- Ability to operate in situations with incomplete requirements and no clear solution – from problem definition to solution implementation.
- Teamwork and communication skills with business, technical, and analytical teams.
- Proactivity, responsibility, and a quality-focused approach in the data domain.
- Knowledge of the ODCS standard.
- Familiarity with the GCP ecosystem.
- Experience with data management tools, such as:
