Position: Senior Data Analyst
Job Location: 860 W. California Avenue, Sunnyvale, CA 94086
Duties: Provide end-to-end business systems analysis and solution roadmap to seamlessly integrate various platforms, programs and services. Conduct statistical analysis and modeling using techniques like regression analysis, hypothesis testing, and probability distributions for accurate data interpretation and forecasting. Conduct machine learning and predictive analytics using frameworks like scikit-learn, TensorFlow, and Keras to develop predictive models, anomaly detection, and time series forecasting. Develop and maintain data models, Tableau dashboards, and reports to monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide actionable insights to stakeholders. Act as the single threaded technical owner for all transactability analytics initiatives, working closely with Product and Business stakeholders to create and implement data-driven solutions while effectively managing projects and resources. Guide a high priority transactability analytics workstream with leadership visibility to maximize the transactable assortment of Walmart’s catalog by identifying opportunities based on publishing status, offer listing, eligibility, and availability. Document processes and share knowledge with peers in informational sessions. Mentor peers as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). Independently develop Hive queries and SQL queries to fetch data from different databases like DB2, Teradata, and Hadoop to provide quality data when business needs. Conduct daily automated audits for data quality checks and six sigma methodologies, identify data load-refresh gaps, validation, and recommended changes. Troubleshoot and resolve project execution roadblocks, technology, application, or architecture problems and issues, process flow gaps, and security concerns from overall solution delivery perspective. Blend data from multiple sources to discover new opportunities. Develop a front-end navigation scheme to support a formal dashboard portfolio strategy, including strategic, tactical, and operational dashboards. Work with Business Analysts to review, evaluate, and derive requirements for testability and provide feedback to define functionalities and test scenarios.
Minimum education and experience required: Master's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Technology, Technology or related field; OR Bachelor's degree or the equivalent in Business, Engineering (any), Statistics, Economics, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Finance, Information Technology, Technology, or related field and 2 years of experience in data analysis, data science, statistics, or related field.
Skills required: Experience providing end-to-end business systems analysis and solution roadmaps. Experience developing clusters using Dataproc and scheduled jobs using cloud scheduler. Experience using Kafka streaming and DistCp for large data transfers between Hadoop and Google cloud. Experience creating ad-hoc reports using Tableau by calculating the financial metrics and KPIs. Experience migrating Teradata Database to GCP and Hadoop system. Experience using Query IT and Hive tool to access Hadoop files. Experience developing Spark code using Scala, Python, and Spark SQL to fetch item and product related data from different data sources. Experience performing real-time analysis of incoming data using Kafka consumer API, Kafka topics, and Spark Streaming utilizing Scala. Experience developing Hive queries and SQL queries to fetch data from different databases. Experience with PL/SQL programming. Experience extracting large data sets on sales and performing complex manipulations using R/Python. Experience conducting statistical analysis using R for tracking and evaluating deviations in core KPIs. Employer will accept any amount of experience with the required skills.
Salary Range: $148,699/year to $202,000/year. Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance incentives. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include: Regional Pay Zone (RPZ) (based on location) and Stock equity incentives.
