Summary

The Senior Data Analyst is responsible for leading the analytical direction of our retrospective data analysis, partnering with Data Engineering to turn raw telemetry into refined, focused data narratives. They build and own the fundamental scaffolding necessary to translate raw telemetry into refined, focused data narratives. They excel at making the tools for company stakeholders, technical teams, and end users to communicate what our data means – and how it can make a difference.

Essential Functions:

    • Internal Data Ownership: Lead the intersection of wearable sensor hardware and advanced analytics. You will develop well-documented analysis tools and notebooks on top of the data lake maintained by Data Engineering, and train others to use them. You dive into raw biosignals and give meaning to complex data.
    • Recording Metadata Database and Data Curation: Define the requirements for, and curate the content of, our physiological recordings metadata database in partnership with Data Engineering, ensuring inventory and provenance are accurate across all hardware generations. You will manage the inventory and provenance of legacy and new data across all hardware generations to support downstream data products.
    • End-to-End Data Storytelling: You build comprehensive data products. From high-fidelity pathology visualizations to rigorous statistical reports, you will own the process from concept to delivery, for audiences ranging from engineers to the C-suite to the end user.
    • Complex Data Interpretation: Ingest and curate multi-source, time-and-location tagged data. You will define the ontologies and analytical requirements needed to extract meaningful signals, working with Data Engineering on the pipelines that support them.
    • Architectural Leadership: As the Company evolves, you will create lighthouse data products that set the standard for how we analyze and present data across the organization. Together with the Algorithm Development team, you will help build the tip of the algorithmic spear: valuable, proof-of-concept analysis methods that can become first-of-their-kind internally and externally facing products.
    • System Troubleshooting & Investigation: Act as the primary investigator for data anomalies. You will investigate data anomalies through the hardware-to-cloud stack, identify likely root causes, and partner with the responsible engineering teams on resolution.
    • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner proactively with engineers, product leads, and stakeholders to understand the "why" behind the data, translating business needs into essential internal tooling.
    • Analytical Tooling Advancement: Design and operate the tools used to evaluate the Ascent system, implementing robust statistical models and ML workflows to automate anomaly detection and trend analysis.
    • Technical Adaptability: Rapidly master a complex, evolving hardware/software ecosystem, adapting your pipelines and visualizations in real-time to ensure data visibility keeps pace with technical capability.
