As a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant, you'll play a critical role in partnering with customers to understand their business objectives, identify cybersecurity challenges, and deliver meaningful security outcomes.

As a senior representative of DEFEND, you'll build trusted relationships across customers, provide expert guidance, and help customers address current and emerging cybersecurity risks. You'll work across a range of initiatives, from security assessments and governance to transformation programmes and improvement roadmaps.

Success in this role means delivering high-quality outcomes, supporting customers to strengthen their cyber resilience, and helping them achieve their strategic and organisational objectives.


Requirements

As a Senior Cybersecurity Consultant, you will:

  • Conduct information security assessments and develop practical, risk-based treatment plans.
  • Work with technical and non-technical stakeholders to identify cyber risks and recommend effective solutions aligned with business priorities.
  • Support customers with cybersecurity governance, risk management and strategic planning, and security transformation programmes.
  • Develop security roadmaps and improvement programmes that help organisations strengthen their resilience over time.
  • Own the successful delivery and reporting of customer engagements in line with agreed Statements of Work.
  • Research emerging cybersecurity tools, technologies, methodologies, and industry trends to ensure customers receive relevant and contemporary advice.
  • Collaborate closely with architects, consultants, delivery teams, partners and customer stakeholders to achieve successful outcomes.
  • Mentor and support colleagues by sharing expertise, providing peer reviews, and helping develop capability across the wider consulting team.
  • Identify opportunities to further support customers through DEFEND's products, services, and cybersecurity practices
  • Partner with leadership and sales teams to identify, track and progress opportunities that add value for customers and strengthen their cyber resilience.
  • Continuously develop your expertise and contribute thought leadership both internally and externally.

What You'll Bring

  • 8+ years' experience in a security consulting and/or operational security role.
  • CISSP, CISM, or an equivalent certification.
  • Experience working with a range of stakeholders across technical and business teams.
  • Strong knowledge of information security, risk management, governance and security architecture principles.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects and stakeholders simultaneously.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build trusted customer relationships.
  • A collaborative approach and a willingness to support and mentor others.

Desirable certifications and experience:

  • SABSA Foundation Practitioner
  • ISO 27001 Lead Auditor
  • ISO 27001 Lead Implementer
  • CRISC
  • CEH
  • Microsoft security certifications
  • PCI-related experience and certifications
