Who we’re looking for:

We are seeking a detail-oriented Senior Cyber Defense Analyst for a potential opportunity with experience identifying, assessing and tracking vulnerabilities across enterprise Information Technology (IT) and Operational Technology (OT) assets. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of risk assessment methodologies, vulnerability management processes, threat hunting and the documentation needed to support federal cybersecurity compliance and reporting. The Sr. Cyber Defense Analyst role requires the ability to lead day-to-day monitoring and incident response execution while working collaboratively across technical, operational and governance teams to ensure resilient mission operations. This is a unique opportunity to shape the growth, development and culture of an exciting and fast-growing company in the cybersecurity market. Employment for this position is dependent on the successful award of the contract.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Perform day-to-day continuous monitoring, conduct vulnerability assessments and execute incident response (IR) activities to identify, analyze and mitigate enterprise threats, vulnerabilities and residual risks.
  • Consume threat intelligence and execute proactive threat hunts to identify emerging risks, support defensive exercises and evaluate overall control effectiveness.
  • Assist in recommending and applying risk assessment methodologies aligned with federally recognized security controls and agency standards.
  • Manage vulnerability data, asset information and required reporting inputs across governance, risk and compliance systems.
  • Coordinate with engineering, Risk Management Framework (RMF) and operations staff to validate controls, evaluate technical environments and track remediation of identified gaps.
  • Contribute to metrics and reporting regarding vulnerability trends, security gaps, threat hunt outcomes and overall control effectiveness.

What you need to know:

  • Experience in vulnerability management, threat hunting, risk assessment and security control evaluation across federal environments.
  • Familiarity with federal compliance environments, security frameworks and cybersecurity reporting requirements.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a focus on threat analysis, vulnerability tracking and remediation management.
  • Proven ability to document findings, recommendations, risk impacts and technical evaluation efforts clearly.
  • Experience working collaboratively with cross-functional technical, operational and compliance stakeholders.

Must have’s:

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university; a postgraduate degree from an accredited university may substitute for 6 years of experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience.
  • Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into clear, actionable tasks and processes through critical thinking.
  • Applicants must currently be a U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain and maintain a security clearance, in compliance with federal contract requirements.

Beneficial to have:

  • Active DOE Q or equivalent DoD Top Secret clearance.

Skills Required

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or postgraduate degree substituting for 6 years of experience
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience
  • Current U.S. citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain a security clearance
  • Experience in vulnerability management, threat hunting, risk assessment, and security control evaluation across federal environments
  • Familiarity with federal compliance environments, security frameworks, and cybersecurity reporting requirements
  • Proven ability to analyze complex requirements and translate them into actionable tasks and processes
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving and technical documentation skills
  • Experience coordinating with engineering, RMF, operations and managing GRC/vulnerability data and remediation tracking
  • Active DOE Q or equivalent DoD Top Secret clearance
