The role of Creative Technologist at Instrument sits at the intersection of creative vision and technical execution, driving the implementation of groundbreaking digital experiences. You fuse technology with creativity to craft innovative digital experiences, always with a keen focus on user needs. Your expertise spans various technologies, yet you excel in applying them creatively, inspiring interdisciplinary teams towards new ways of thinking and pioneering solutions. In this role, you're not just a leader; you're helping to redefine the possibilities of digital experiences and driving innovation in uncharted territories.

What You'll Do

• Lead exploratory ideation that push the boundaries of digital technology and user experiences. Drive innovation by exploring emerging technologies and integrating them into projects where applicable
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Creative Directors, Designers, Developers, and Project Managers to translate creative concepts into technical solutions
• Stay updated on industry trends, tools, and best practices, and share knowledge with the greater engineering team (both ICs and leadership)
• Lead ideation and provide technical expertise and insights during brainstorming sessions and concepting processes
• Prototype (programmatic and non-programmatic) proof of concepts and first pass at new features for innovative digital products, services, or business processes
• Foster a culture of innovation within the team, encouraging expansive creative thinking and risk-taking
• Collaborate with IC developers to understand the intent and expanse of prototyped concepts so that they can build those experiences in a production environment.
• Oversee the creative development process, ensuring high-quality standards and adherence to project timelines
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs and effectively communicate technical constraints to the creative team
• Mentor and guide cross-discipline team members, fostering a culture of creativity, innovation, and continuous learning

What You'll Bring

• 8+ years' experience in creating digital experiences using both technology and design (UX or visual)
• Experience bringing innovative thinking and its successful implementation in experience prototypes
• Experience in front-end web or app development (Javascript, iOS, Android) or a creative coding framework (Processing, openFrameworks)
• Experience learning new programming languages or technology platforms quickly and using them in your practice
• Strong understanding of UX, UI, and motion design principles

Pay Range

• The expected pay range for this position is $85,000-$110,000 for our base US Region 3*. We have three regional pay ranges that are adjusted for cost of living (US1 +15%, US2 +7.5%, US3 Base), learn more about our pay philosophy and cost of living adjustments
