Who we are looking for:

Re:Car is looking for an energetic, organized, experienced Senior Crash Simulation Engineer to join our growing team. This position is responsible for performing crash simulations to develop and optimize EV body structure.


What you get to do:

The Senior Crash Simulation Engineer will be working with CAE tools to lead and guide the design. The Senior Crash Simulation Engineer will be responsible for performing full vehicle frontal, side and rear crash simulations as per FMVSS, USNCAP and IIHS standards using Ls Dyna. This candidate is using pre-processing tools like ANSA and HYPERMESH to create and debug the full vehicle crash model. This senior engineer will use META or HYPERWORKS to post-process the crash simulation results. He/she will suggest recommendations for improving the design. This senior engineer can understand the problem by digging into and analyzing the results and is able to find the optimized solution by performing several full vehicle crash simulation iterations.  The Senior Crash Simulation Engineer involves in component and vehicle testing too and he/she will correlate the CAE results with the test data.  The Senior Crash Simulation Engineer is responsible for applying advanced methods like DOE/DFSS to optimize the design. This senior engineer will create reports to present the results of the simulations and the improvements achieved. He/she will communicate with the design team, manufacturing team, and suppliers to achieve the desired vehicle performance. 


What you bring to the Team:

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering or equivalent from an ABET accredited or equivalent program.    
  • Master’s degree or PHD is preferred. 
  • 8+ years of experience in performing full vehicle crash simulations.
  • Experience with using Ls Dyna, ANSA, META, HYPERWORKS and PRIMER
  • Knowledge of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards, USNCAP and IIHS
  • Knowledge of optimization tools and techniques.
  • Knowledge of applying engineering fundaments in the development
  • Ability to work independently from start to end
  • Strong oral and verbal communication skills
  • Act as a team player and problem solver
  • Experience with correlation of CAE and Test results
  • Experience with FEA modeling of long fiber composite components is preferred
  • Experience on development of BOF body structure is preferred
