The Industrial & Energy Technology  (IET) is a leader in designing, manufacturing, testing, and installing Gas Technology solutions that serve the entire gas value chain including on/offshore, pipeline, LNG, gas storage and gas distribution.

As the Senior Counsel GTE Americas, you will:

• Be responsible for GTE Americas legal and compliance strategy 
• Be the focal point for LNG globally
• Be the focal point to key decarbonization solutions for the natural gas industry, including Brush
• Prepare and negotiate agreements including supply agreements, investment/financing agreements, complex project agreements 
• Strategically partner with business stakeholders to manage risk 
• Provide advice on matters of local law across the region, in particular on public procurement laws, competition laws and integrity laws (anti-bribery and anti-corruption).
• Interface with Americas customers, business partners, and government agencies.
• Support, train and mentor sales and commercial teams on legal and compliance issues
• Manage, and/or work together with other Legal Groups to manage region litigation, including determination of reserves/accruals and reporting thereof.
• Monitor new legislation and changes to existing legislation

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will have:

• JD (or equivalent) with active bar membership
• Extensive experience at a large, preferably international, law firm or multinational company’s corporate legal department working on a variety of commercial / business legal matters in the region, including previous experience of drafting, negotiating and closing complex business transactions
• Effective oral and written communication skills and strategic thinking
• Ability to manage complex issues and work in a collaborative environment
• Customer focused, entrepreneurial, self-reliant and engaged
• Collaborative team player
• Ability to provide creative and compliant solutions while juggling multiple priorities
• Initiative to take on new challenges and lead change in a fast-paced environment
