The Senior Corporate Accountant is responsible for supporting the company’s corporate and consolidated financial reporting processes, ensuring accurate and timely financial information in accordance with U.S. GAAP. This role plays a key part in the monthly and quarterly close process, consolidation activities, intercompany accounting, and audit support within a dynamic, multi-entity environment.

A key focus of this position will be identifying, developing, and implementing AI-enabled solutions that improve how the accounting function operates. The Senior Corporate Accountant will be expected to actively explore practical applications of artificial intelligence within accounting and financial reporting, including opportunities to automate manual processes, improve data analysis, strengthen controls, accelerate the close process, and enhance the accuracy and efficiency of financial reporting. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience developing or implementing AI-related projects, or a strong interest in AI with the technical curiosity and initiative to identify and build new use cases within the accounting function.

The Senior Corporate Accountant partners closely with Corporate Accounting leadership, FP&A, Treasury, operational finance teams, IT, and external auditors to support consolidated reporting, maintain strong internal controls, and drive process and technology improvements across the accounting function. This position offers significant exposure to technical accounting, financial reporting, AI and automation initiatives, and cross-functional projects within a global organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the monthly and quarterly close process for corporate and consolidated reporting, including preparation of journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules in accordance with established deadlines.
  • Assist with the preparation of consolidated financial statements, including consolidation entries, intercompany eliminations, and variance analysis of subsidiary results.
  • Identify and develop practical AI use cases within accounting, with a focus on reducing manual work, improving accuracy, accelerating financial processes, and providing better insights from financial data.
  • Participate in the design, testing, implementation, and ongoing improvement of AI-enabled accounting tools and workflows, partnering with Accounting, Finance, IT, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Evaluate existing accounting processes to identify opportunities where AI, automation, and data analytics can improve efficiency, controls, scalability, and decision-making.
  • Maintain consolidation and reporting structures within SAP/BPC, including entity hierarchies, account mappings, and intercompany relationships.
  • Support intercompany accounting processes, including reconciliation of balances, investigation of variances, and preparation of elimination schedules.
  • Perform accounting research related to complex transactions and new accounting guidance; assist with preparation of technical accounting memos and accounting policy documentation.
  • Execute and document key internal controls related to the close and consolidation process, ensuring compliance with company policies and audit requirements.
  • Support external audit activities by preparing schedules, responding to audit requests, and assisting with supporting documentation for corporate and consolidated reporting areas.
  • Partner with FP&A to analyze consolidated financial results, investigate variances to budget and forecast, and support management reporting requirements.
  • Assist Treasury with preparation of financial information required for lender reporting, credit agreements, and bank audits.
  • Prepare complex journal entries and supporting schedules related to corporate accounting activities, including equity accounting, allocations, and consolidation adjustments.
  • Identify opportunities for broader process improvement and automation within the close and reporting cycle, leveraging SAP, AI, and other financial technology and reporting tools.
  • Collaborate with accounting team members to promote consistency in processes, documentation, technology adoption, and best practices across the organization.

Requirements

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • 3-6 years of progressive accounting experience, including experience in corporate accounting, consolidations, financial reporting, and/or public accounting
  • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing, or applying AI-enabled solutions, automation technologies, or advanced systems functionality within accounting or finance strongly preferred; candidates with a demonstrated interest in AI and the ability to identify and develop practical accounting use cases will also be considered
  • Strong interest in emerging AI technologies and their potential applications within accounting, financial reporting, process automation, and data analysis
  • Strong understanding of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting principles
  • Experience working in a multi-entity environment with consolidation exposure
  • Experience with ERP and financial reporting systems; SAP experience preferred
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with an aptitude for identifying inefficient processes and developing technology-enabled solutions
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across departments and levels of the organization

  • Hands-on experience developing or implementing AI, automation, or technology-driven process improvements within an accounting or finance environment

  • Experience in a large private company or global organization
