We are looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to join our Critical Handling Solutions (CHS) business segment. The CHS group specializes in designing and building a variety of high performance, high reliability custom crane and lifting equipment. We serve several diverse industries including aerospace, nuclear test laboratories, commercial nuclear plants, and various other industries that have a need for the most advanced lifting systems that are possible. You have a knack for satisfying customers by leveraging your deep knowledge of all things automation. By applying a “whatever it takes” mentality to your work, the Senior Controls Engineer will own and drive some of the organizations most complex engineering challenges to produce industry-leading products and solutions. Preferred Qualifications
  • 7+ years of controls engineering experience
  • Demonstrated ability to lead the design of complex electrical control systems, including tasks such as but not limited to:
  • Apply knowledge of industrial standards (i.e. NFPA70, NFPA79, IEEE standards, etc.) to ensure your system is designed to the highest level of quality.
  • Perform all aspects of electrical system design using CAD software. Experience with AutoCAD Electrical is preferred.
  • Selection and advanced parameterization of Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs). Experience with Magnetek and Siemens VFDs is preferred.
  • Writing all software (PLC, PC, HMI, etc.) Experience in Siemens PLCs and HMIs is preferred.
  • Creating technical documents including system specifications, operating instructions, and test plans.
  • Review and approval of other engineer’s design documentation for adequacy, completeness, and accuracy.
  • Willingness to travel to customer sites for installations (typically no more 10%, but on rare occasions may fluctuate up to 25% depending on business needs).
  • BS in electrical engineering or related field
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license, or willingness to attain license is a huge plus.
