Weiler Labeling Systems is looking for a Senior Controls Engineer to design, program, and optimize automation solutions for our high‑speed labeling machines. This role is hands‑on, collaborative, and critical to delivering reliable, cutting‑edge equipment to our customers.

- Develop & implement PLC and multi‑axis motion control programs for advanced labeling systems
- Create clear documentation to support assembly, testing, debugging, and long‑term servicing of equipment
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with automation, electrical, and mechanical engineers, as well as sales teams and customers, to fully define project scope and requirements
- Evaluate and recommend hardware and software components that best fit each project’s needs
- Troubleshoot & optimize complex automation systems to ensure performance, reliability, and scalability

Base Salary Range: $120,000 - $140,000

- Education: BS in Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics Engineering or equivalent
- Experience: 7+ years in controls engineering with a focus on motion control and high‑speed automated machinery
- Proven experience in multi‑axis motion control programming
- Skilled in structured text programming
- Hands‑on experience with B&R Automation Studio (required)
- Familiarity with Allen Bradley CompactLogix and ControlLogix PLCs (preferred)
- Strong knowledge of communication protocols: OPC‑UA, Powerlink, Ethernet/IP
- HMI programming experience (required), ideally with B&R mappView and Allen Bradley FactoryTalk SE/ME
- Excellent debugging and troubleshooting skills for complex automation issues
- SQL database experience (plus)
- SCADA / MES experience (plus)
- Results‑driven with high standards
- Organized, able to set priorities and track progress
- Team‑oriented, collaborative, and willing to share knowledge
- Strong communicator—professional in listening, speaking, and writing
- Analytical problem solver with a structured approach to identifying causes and generating solutions
