General Skills and required qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Finance, Business Administration, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
- 3-7 years of experience in Controlling, FP&A, Commercial Finance, or Finance Business Partnering.
- Demonstrated experience coordinating planning, forecasting, and reporting cycles.
- Experience leading projects, process improvements, or automation initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to translate data into business insights.
- Advanced Excel and Power BI capabilities.
- Experience with ERP, planning, and reporting tools (Dynamics Navision, Tagetik, Power BI, Microsoft Copilot
- preferred).
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills in German and English.
Key Responsibilities
This role is a key role for the DACH Controlling team, working with the Head of Controlling & Audit to lead the following tasks:
Financial Planning & Reporting
- Coordinate the monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and periodic reporting processes for assigned business
- areas.
- Prepare and present financial analyses, variance reports, and management information to support decision-
- making.
- Support the Head of Controlling in the preparation of management reporting and board-level materials.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely delivery of financial planning and reporting outputs.
- Identify financial risks and opportunities and proactively communicate recommendations.
- Develop, maintain, and enhance KPI reporting frameworks.
- Support sales and other functions in the development of effective commission and bonus targets and
- agreements
- Monitor key business drivers and provide actionable insights to improve profitability and operational
- performance.
- Support margin improvement initiatives through the analysis of revenue, pricing, cost, and efficiency drivers.
- Contribute to the development of analytical tools and dashboards that improve visibility of business
- performance.
- Act as a finance business partner for allocated stakeholders across the DACH organisation.
- Provide financial insight and analytical support to improve business performance.
- Challenge assumptions and support operational and commercial leaders in achieving financial targets.
- Perform ad hoc analysis, scenario modelling, and profitability assessments to support business decisions.
- Support the evaluation of investments, strategic initiatives, and business cases.
- Lead selected controlling processes and drive continuous improvements to increase efficiency and quality.
- Identify, propose, and implement process optimisation opportunities across planning, reporting, and analysis
- activities.
- Support the standardisation of controlling processes, methodologies, and reporting frameworks.
- Collaborate with central finance functions to ensure alignment with group requirements and best practices.
- Support the business with finance input and data into business cases and investment decisions.
- Lead controlling-related projects and workstreams from design through implementation.
- Participate in finance transformation initiatives and support the adoption of new technologies and ways of working.
- Drive the implementation of AI, automation, and business intelligence solutions to improve productivity and insight generation.
- Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure successful delivery of project objectives.
- Act as a senior member of the Controlling team and provide support and guidance to less experienced colleagues.
- Share best practices and contribute to the development of controlling capabilities within the group and local function.
- Support onboarding and knowledge transfer activities where required.
