Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Engineer to join our organisation in Cairo, Egypt. In this permanent position, you will be responsible for managing, drafting, and negotiating complex technical contracts whilst ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and organisational standards. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in protecting our interests through meticulous contract analysis and strategic engineering oversight.

  • Draft, review, and negotiate technical contracts with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and external partners, ensuring clarity and legal compliance • Analyse contract terms, conditions, and specifications to identify potential risks and recommend mitigation strategies • Maintain comprehensive contract documentation and maintain an organised filing system for easy retrieval and audit purposes
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and legal teams to ensure technical specifications align with contractual obligations • Monitor contract performance and compliance, flagging any deviations or issues requiring escalation • Provide expert guidance on technical contract matters to project managers and senior leadership • Ensure all contracts adhere to relevant Egyptian regulations, industry standards, and organisational policies
  • Conduct thorough risk assessments on contract terms and propose amendments to protect organisational interests • Maintain detailed records of contract modifications, amendments, and correspondence • Support the resolution of contract disputes through detailed technical analysis and documentation

Qualifications

**Required:** • Minimum 7 years' experience in contract engineering or technical contract management • Proven expertise in drafting and negotiating technical contracts • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess complex contractual terms and technical specifications • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English • Proficiency in contract management principles and practices

  • Knowledge of engineering standards, codes, and best practices • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple contracts simultaneously with meticulous attention to detail • Strong organisational skills and ability to maintain comprehensive documentation • Understanding of risk analysis and mitigation strategies in contract management • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams **Desirable:**
  • Experience with contract management software and digital tools • Familiarity with Egyptian or Middle Eastern regulatory frameworks • Knowledge of procurement and supply chain management • Experience in project management methodologies • Advanced negotiation and stakeholder management skills • Background in a specific engineering discipline (civil, mechanical, electrical, or similar)
