Senior Consultant 1, LR&C-Risk

JOB DESCRIPTION
You will help to build our expertise and guarantee the quality of delivery to ensure market-leading practices for our Hong Kong office, taking into account the global nature of our organisation and our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
Contribute to engagements with leading financial institutions including banks, securities firms, private equity and insurance companies
Deliver high‑quality client engagements, taking ownership of workstreams and deliverables while meeting agreed timelines and budget expectations
Support the delivery of regulatory and risk consulting engagements, including AML/KYC reviews, regulatory compliance assessments, risk assessments, internal control reviews and enhancements, policy and procedure development, governance framework design, licensing applications, and broader risk and compliance advisory projects.
Participate in business development initiatives, including thought leadership, proposal development, and client presentations
Share consulting best practices and contribute to the continuous development of the team
Specific areas of expertise:
Ideally, you would have advisory experience in one or more of these areas:
- Regulatory compliance review and advisory in HKMA, SFC and / or IA regulations
- Financial crime compliance – AML, Fraud, Sanctions
- Market conduct and Consumer protection
- Data privacy (e.g. PDPO, GDPR, PIPL) and Information security
- Operational risk and Resilience
- Outsourcing and Third party risk management
- Adoption of AI for compliance automation and/or RegTech
Key Requirements:
University graduate or above in accounting, business, finance or related disciplines.
3+ years of relevant experience in risk and regulatory compliance within a reputable consulting firm. Those with less experience could be considered for consultant level.
Holder of professional qualifications such as CPA, CFA, FRM, CAMS, CISA , CIA and/or other related qualification is an advantage.
Familiar with HKMA, SFC and / or IA regulations
Sound knowledge of banking, investment, and securities products would be an advantage.
Good project management and stakeholder management skills
Strong interpersonal, logical and analytical skills
Able to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent presentation and communication skills with clients and colleagues
Possess an entrepreneurial spirit and team leadership skills
Fluency in spoken and written English and Cantonese is a must. Fluency in Mandarin is an advantage.
