Job Description Summary:

As a Senior Component Quality Engineer, you will be responsible for the programmatic oversight and guidance to the selection, development, evaluation, qualification, production, and procurement of electronic parts. Are you the kind of person who likes to be the critical link to a team? In this role you will work with engineering to ensure parts meet the required quality standards and specifications. We’re looking for Engineers who know their way around components and supply and who want to help build technology that supports national defense and electronic systems.
What You’ll Do:
 Develop and revise foundational program documentation (such as Parts Management Plan, Device Evaluation Testing Plan, Qualification Plan, Lot Acceptance)
 Identify key deliverables and dependencies, identify risks and opportunities, ensure plans are in place to meet program milestones, and make needed technical and quality related decisions
 Independently drive solutions to complex problems - develop requirements, propose ways forward when requirements are unclear or incomplete, and adapt appropriately to changes in requirements
 Establish and maintain process for a common parts library
 Interface and coordinate decisions from various stakeholders including but not limited to designers, component engineers, procurement agencies, to assess enabling technologies and the selection of parts
 Maintain the Approved Parts List and associated interface with Design Environment Infrastructure
 Coordinate Supply Chain Management requirements, including Program Protection
 Contribute to the development of Procurement Plans/Strategies
 Contribute to the establishment of supplier quality requirements and conduct supplier evaluations and supply chain risk management assessments
 Contribute to establishment of part specification requirements and associated templates
 Define prototype acceptance requirements, production quality levels, production traceability requirements, production acceptance approach

 Experience working with electronic parts, circuit card assemblies, radiation hardened testing, and parts acceptance requirements
 Experience working with evolving requirements involving cross-functional stakeholders

Job Description:

Duties/Responsibilities
• Provide technical assistance and support to customers, suppliers, and employees in resolving issues.
•Leads and identifies improvements of manufacturing, process, and product efficiency to reduce nonconforming products.
• Ensures products meet the organizations and customers quality and product integrity requirements.
• Provides analysis and expertise throughout the inspection process.
• Leads a cross function team in the determination of root cause of failures. Identifies when failure analysis is necessary, along with providing recommendations of the corrective measures.
• Analyzes data to identify trends in product quality or defects with the goal of mitigating and preventing recurrence and future defects.
• Drive solutions to complex problems with limited direction
• Actively mentor less experienced engineers
• Performs other duties as assigned.
Skills/Abilities
• Ability to work on cross functional teams
• Working knowledge of Lean Six Sigma principles
• Familiarity with Quality Standards ISO 9001:2015 and AS9100.

Requires a bachelor of Science degree an Engineering discipline.

This position will require the ability to obtain and maintain a DOD security clearance. Onsite in Cambridge, MA

The US base salary range for this full-time position is

$82,300.00 - $220,000.00

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target salaries for the position across all US locations. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Union ranges will be in compliance with the collective bargaining agreement's approved rates by location and role.
