Position Summary

The Senior Compensation Analyst supports AmeriSave's compensation programs, job description governance, compensation analytics, and related employment documentation. This position serves as the primary administrator for the company's Payscale platform and has primary responsibility for creating and maintaining compensation reports, dashboards, and analytics within AxiomHRS.

The position partners with Human Resources, Talent Acquisition, Payroll, and business leaders to maintain accurate job and compensation data, support informed pay decisions, assist with annual and year-end compensation processes, and build the foundational data and processes necessary for the future development of job grades and salary structures.

What You'll Do

Job Description Administration

  • Create, update, standardize, and maintain company job descriptions across all business functions.
  • Coordinate periodic job description reviews with department leaders and subject matter experts.
  • Conduct job analyses to confirm essential duties, qualifications, reporting relationships, and organizational alignment.
  • Maintain a centralized repository of approved job descriptions and related approval documentation.
  • Support consistent treatment of FLSA classification, ADA considerations, EEO language, and other job description requirements.
  • Administer job description review, collaboration, and approval workflows within Payscale Job Description Manager.

Compensation Analysis and Payscale Administration

  • Serve as the primary administrator and internal subject matter resource for Payscale.
  • Conduct market pricing, job matching, and compensation benchmarking using Payscale and other approved survey sources.
  • Analyze internal and external compensation data to support hiring, promotions, salary adjustments, retention decisions, and compensation reviews.
  • Prepare compensation analyses and recommendations for review by HR leadership.
  • Support pay equity reviews, salary range analyses, compensation audits, and market competitiveness assessments.
  • Maintain compensation survey data, market matches, job records, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with the future development of job families, job levels, job grades, salary ranges, and a scalable compensation structure.

Compensation Systems, Reporting and Analytics

  • Serve as the primary owner for creating and maintaining compensation-related reports, dashboards, scorecards, and data visualizations in AxiomHRS.
  • Develop recurring and ad hoc compensation reports for HR leadership, Finance, and executive management.
  • Build reporting related to base pay, salary ranges, compa-ratios, range penetration, market competitiveness, merit increases, promotions, incentives, turnover, and workforce planning.
  • Develop standardized reporting packages for compensation planning, budgeting, leadership reviews, and audit support.
  • Validate the accuracy and completeness of compensation data across AxiomHRS, Payscale, payroll, and other related systems.
  • Identify reporting enhancements, data quality improvements, and opportunities to improve compensation analytics.

Annual Compensation and Bonus Administration

  • Assist with annual merit review, year-end bonus review, and incentive compensation processes.
  • Prepare bonus models, calculations, review files, and supporting documentation for HR leadership and Finance review.
  • Perform quality-control checks to identify discrepancies and support accurate, timely payment recommendations.
  • Maintain clear documentation and audit trails supporting compensation and incentive calculations.
  • Support compensation budgeting, forecasting, and year-end reporting activities.

Employment Documentation and Process Improvement

  • Create and maintain standardized offer letter templates for applicable employee groups and compensation arrangements.
  • Develop and update compensation addendums, incentive agreements, salary adjustment notices, commission-related documents, and other compensation communications.
  • Coordinate review of templates with HR leadership and Legal, as appropriate, and maintain approved versions.
  • Document compensation procedures, workflows, controls, and standard operating practices.
  • Recommend practical process improvements that increase consistency, accuracy, auditability, and efficiency.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.

What You Bring

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market pricing methodologies, salary structures, and compensation administration practices.
  • Knowledge of FLSA classification requirements, pay equity concepts, pay transparency requirements, and compensation-related recordkeeping practices.
  • Advanced analytical, reporting, and data visualization skills.
  • Ability to develop user-friendly dashboards, reports, scorecards, and workforce analytics within HRIS, payroll, or business intelligence platforms.
  • Ability to analyze large datasets, identify trends or discrepancies, and translate findings into clear business insights and recommendations.
  • Working knowledge of compensation metrics, including compa-ratio, range penetration, market position, pay compression, and incentive compensation measures.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookup functions, formulas, data validation, and reconciliation of complex datasets.
  • Strong attention to detail and demonstrated ability to validate sensitive compensation data and calculations.
  • Excellent written communication skills, including the ability to prepare clear job descriptions, employment templates, compensation documentation, and executive-ready reports.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and appropriately manage access to sensitive compensation information.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
  • Four or more years of progressively responsible experience in compensation, HR analytics, or a related discipline.
  • Experience conducting compensation benchmarking, market pricing, salary analysis, or related compensation work.
  • Experience creating, reviewing, or maintaining job descriptions and compensation-related documentation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and experience working with sensitive HR or compensation data.

Preferred Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience building and maintaining HR, compensation, workforce planning, or executive analytics dashboards.
  • Experience working with HRIS reporting tools such as UKG Ready, AxiomHRS, Workday, ADP, Ceridian, or similar platforms.
  • Experience supporting annual merit, bonus, and incentive compensation review processes.
  • Strong data visualization and reporting experience, including the ability to convert detailed compensation data into clear management reporting.
  • Experience administering Payscale, Payscale Job Description Manager, or a comparable compensation and job description platform.
  • Experience developing compensation reports, scorecards, and standardized management reporting packages.
  • Experience partnering with Finance, Payroll, and HR leadership on compensation planning or year-end compensation activities.
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP), SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR certification is a plus.

Compensation:

The annual compensation for this position ranges between $80,000 - $125,000.
