As a Senior Associate in our Financial Services Tax practice, you will play an important role in delivering high-quality tax compliance and consulting services while developing the technical and leadership skills needed for continued career advancement.
We are seeking a Financial Services Tax Senior to support clients across the alternative investment industry, including private equity funds, hedge funds, venture capital funds, management companies, family offices, and related investment structures. This role combines technical tax execution, client interaction, project coordination, and mentorship of junior professionals.
Position Overview
As a Financial Services Tax Senior, you will work closely with Managers, Directors, and Managing Directors/Partners to deliver exceptional client service, manage day-to-day engagement responsibilities, and help clients navigate complex tax reporting and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Client Service & Technical Execution
- Prepare and review federal, state, and local tax returns, extensions, workpapers, and quarterly tax projections for financial services clients.
- Analyze financial and tax information to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with applicable tax laws and regulations.
- Assist clients in addressing tax compliance requirements and reporting obligations.
- Identify potential tax issues, planning opportunities, and operational risks, escalating matters appropriately to engagement leadership.
- Perform tax research and prepare written summaries and recommendations related to technical tax matters.
- Coordinate with client personnel, fund administrators, and engagement teams to obtain information and resolve outstanding items.
Engagement Management & Collaboration
- Assist with the planning, execution, and completion of multiple client engagements.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables to ensure quality and timeliness.
- Coordinate day-to-day engagement activities and communicate status updates to Managers and Directors.
- Support engagement budgeting and workflow management efforts.
- Demonstrate attention to detail while balancing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Team Development & Leadership
- Review work prepared by Associates and Interns and provide constructive feedback.
- Mentor and coach junior team members to support their professional and technical development.
- Share knowledge and best practices to enhance team performance and engagement quality.
- Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and high-performing team environment.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Taxation, Finance, or a related field.
- CPA eligible; CPA or MST preferred.
- 3-5+ years of progressive public accounting experience.
- Experience preparing and reviewing partnership tax returns and related tax workpapers.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance requirements.
- Excellent written, verbal, analytical, and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and teamwork.
Skills Required
- Bachelor's degree
- Master's degree in taxation
- 3-5 years of professional experience, preferably in a mid-size public accounting firm
- Advanced knowledge of federal and state tax laws, including corporate, individual, trust, gift, and partnership taxation
- CPA or CPA eligibility
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong client service skills
- Ability to work independently and in a team setting
- Strong analytical, organizational, and project management skills
- Knowledge of CCH Axcess, SurePrep, XCM, and Caseware
