Senior Cloud Systems Administrator

We are seeking a motivated Cloud Systems Administrator to join our dynamic IT team. This role administers and enables the cloud, AI, and compute platforms that our employees and teams build on — you won't be developing applications or AI solutions yourself, but you'll be the person making sure the accounts, access, guardrails, and underlying infrastructure are set up, secure, and running smoothly. No two days look the same: you might spend one day supporting a GPU cluster, the next reviewing AWS Service Control Policies, and the next provisioning access to Vertex AI. This role suits someone early in their career with well-rounded IT experience and a strong willingness to learn across a wide range of technologies.

Key Responsibilities
- Cloud Account & Governance Administration: Administer AWS and GCP accounts, organizations, and Service Control Policies (SCPs); manage IAM, networking, and guardrails.
- Platform Enablement: Provision and manage access to cloud and AI/ML platforms (e.g., AWS Bedrock, Google Vertex AI) for internal teams to use.
- Infrastructure Support: Provide day-to-day administration and support across a range of infrastructure, including Linux servers and GPU compute clusters.
- System Monitoring and Troubleshooting: Implement monitoring and resolve issues across cloud, compute, and platform environments.
- Security and Compliance: Apply security best practices and support compliance efforts across cloud accounts and underlying systems.
- Automation: Write and maintain scripts to automate routine administrative tasks (e.g., account provisioning, access management).
- Backup and Recovery: Help implement and maintain backup solutions, ensuring data integrity and availability.
- Documentation: Maintain clear documentation of configurations, processes, and procedures.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other IT team members and internal platform users to support their infrastructure and access needs.
- Continuous Improvement: Stay current with cloud, AI platform, and systems best practices, and suggest improvements.

Required Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
- Experience: 1-3 years of hands-on experience with cloud platforms (AWS and/or GCP). Exposure to Bedrock and/or Vertex AI is a plus.
- Linux Fundamentals: Working knowledge of Linux system administration.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in shell scripting and familiarity with infrastructure-as-code or configuration tools (e.g., Terraform) for account/environment provisioning.
- Adaptability: Comfortable moving between different technical domains (accounts, compute, AI platforms) day to day.
- Problem-Solving: Good troubleshooting and analytical skills, with a willingness to learn.
- Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Team Player: Ability to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, varied team environment.

Preferred Qualifications
- Certification: AWS Certified Cloud Practitioner/Solutions Architect (Associate), Google Associate Cloud Engineer, or equivalent.
- Additional Knowledge: Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), GPU/HPC environments, or AI platform administration.
- Linux Depth: RHCSA or equivalent Linux experience is a strong plus.
