In this position, you will serve as core member of the Cloud Infrastructure SIPR Team, for the Dept. of the Air Force. This team is responsible for establishing the processes, technology, documentation, and providing user support to allow the internal EITaaS team to access and use services within both the Production and Pre-Production Azure Cloud One SIPR environments. This team, technology, and processes support not only the internal EITaaS team, but also the Dept. of the Air Force.

You will work with your manager and other cloud engineers to provide leadership in the execution of requirements, priorities, and objectives as defined to support the EITaaS engagement. This includes participation in strategizing, planning, designing, deploying, testing and documenting cloud solutions. Your senior Azure experience in supporting complex and custom deployments, plus your use of Azure CLI and PowerShell are critical for success.

You will participate in the full life cycle of activities while ensuring product success follows all established processes and standards, including DoD and DAF policies. Your hands-on Azure cloud expertise, understanding of STIGS for Windows/RHEL VMs and how to implement a secure PaaS/IaaS environment are standard capabilities in this role. You will support the other Cloud Engineers on the team by providing hands-on engineering, administration, guidance and mentoring support. Responsibilities:
• Responsible for architecting, planning, and implementing Azure Cloud Infrastructure DoD IL5 and IL6 technologies that leverage best practices to ensure maximum functionality while maintaining a secure environment. Experience deploying in Cloud One is considered a bonus.
• Provide solid engineering and administration support of Azure based solutions and integrations with clear understanding of internal workings of Azure Services at all levels to support the network and implementation of IaaS and PaaS implementations and a background in RHEL.
• Support drafting and maintaining documentation for the EITaaS Cloud environment, such as architecture diagrams, assessments, implementation plans, and design documents.
• Successfully oversee the deployment and implementation of solutions within an Azure environment with skills in a Linux based CLI environment and/or programming experience that involves a combination of Azure CLI, Azure PowerShell, and Python.
• Provide hands-on Azure network engineering ownership, including implementation, administration, and management of virtual appliance-based next generation firewalls (NGFWs), routing, DNS, IPSec, ACLs, etc.
• Ensure network traffic only ingresses and egresses via approved communication paths.
• Deploy, maintain, troubleshoot, and resolve issues within Linux-based environments to include RHEL, containers, and virtual network appliances.
• Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot various azure resources while abiding by IL5 and IL5 requirements.
• Provide hands on Leadership and mentoring during the design, planning, and implementation of custom engineering projects.
• Capable of creative solutioning utilizing a combination of multiple technologies to meet security standards in a variety of scenarios.
• Support cost monitoring and consumption for the Cloud Infrastructure, this includes identifying, recommending, and implementing cost saving solutions upon approval.
• This position requires multiple years of relevant senior experience. It is expected that you will lead your team with minimal supervision, are a self-starter and capable of defining and managing your individual tasks and have strong communication skills for partnering and communicating across internal teams to maximize efficiency and success of assigned tasks.

Qualifications

Required:
• Active DoD Secret clearance preferred, or ability to obtain a Secret clearance
• IAT Level II certification
• 15+ Years of relevant experience (Bachelor’s Degree in applicable field may be substituted for 5 years of experience).
• 7+ Years of Linux Experience
• Extensive Experience in Azure: Minimum of 5 years of hands-on experience specifically with Azure cloud services.
• Deep Azure Networking Knowledge: Proven expertise in designing, implementing, and troubleshooting complex Azure networking solutions.
• Azure Services Proficiency: Strong understanding and experience with a wide range of Azure services.
• Security-Focused: Demonstrated ability to design and implement secure Azure solutions, with a deep understanding of security best practices.
• Solution Design and Implementation: Ability to design, implement, integrate, and troubleshoot new and custom Azure solutions tailored to customer needs to deliver innovative and effective solutions.
• Methodological Expertise: Experience with various methodologies for solution design and implementation within Azure.
• Problem-Solving Skills: Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve complex issues within Azure environments promptly and effectively.
• Customer-Centric Approach: Proven track record of working closely with customers to understand their needs and delivering solutions that meet or exceed their expectations.
• Collaboration and Communication: Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, operations, and other stakeholders.
• AWS Experience Not Required: This position specifically requires deep Azure expertise.
• High-Level Engineering Focus: Focusing on strategic of Azure solutions.

Skills Required
