Job Description:
Quevera is seeking a highly skilled Senior Cloud Solutions Architect with an active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph to support mission-critical programs in Herndon and Springfield, Virginia. In this role, you will design and implement resilient cloud architectures that support critical national security missions while helping customers improve operational reliability and cloud resiliency.
Working alongside customer engineering, security, and operations teams, you will conduct architecture assessments, facilitate resilience workshops, develop disaster recovery strategies, and establish operational best practices. You'll collaborate directly with customer stakeholders to translate technical resilience concepts into business value while supporting enterprise cloud modernization initiatives.
As a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect, you'll have the opportunity to lead cloud resilience initiatives, advise customers on AWS best practices, and deliver secure, scalable, and highly available cloud solutions.
Work Location:
- Primary Work Location: AWS IAD21 (Herndon, Virginia) and customer site in the vicinity of Springfield, Virginia.
- Work Environment: Must be willing to work in a SCIF at the AWS Herndon or Springfield customer site up to 100% of the work week.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design resilient cloud architectures utilizing multi-Availability Zone (AZ) and multi-Region deployment strategies.
- Conduct AWS Well-Architected Reviews with a focus on the Reliability Pillar.
- Implement and validate resilience strategies through chaos engineering exercises and game day events.
- Develop operational runbooks, monitoring strategies, and disaster recovery procedures.
- Facilitate resilience assessments, architecture reviews, and customer workshops.
- Translate technical resilience concepts into business value for technical and executive stakeholders.
- Develop and maintain architecture decision records (ADRs), resilience documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and operational documentation.
- Collaborate with customer engineering, security, and operations teams to improve cloud resiliency.
- Mentor customer teams on resilience best practices and operational maturity.
- Build and maintain strong customer relationships while providing executive-level status reporting and technical guidance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Active TS/SCI clearance with Polygraph required.
- Experience conducting AWS Well-Architected Reviews with a focus on the Reliability Pillar.
- Experience facilitating resilience assessments, architecture reviews, workshops, and game day exercises.
- Experience communicating technical resilience concepts to business and executive stakeholders.
- Experience developing architecture decision records (ADRs), resilience runbooks, and standard operating procedures.
- Experience managing customer relationships and providing executive-level reporting.
- Experience collaborating with engineering, security, and operations teams.
- Experience mentoring customer teams on cloud resilience best practices and operational maturity.
- Experience developing and implementing AWS-based systems, including leading at least one implementation effort.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience utilizing software development tools and methodologies.
Desired Skills:
- Hands-on experience with AWS Resilience Hub, including resilience assessments and policy management.
- AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Professional and/or AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Professional.
- Experience supporting regulated environments, including FedRAMP and IL4/IL5.
- Familiarity with NIST SP 800-160 and DoD Mission Assurance frameworks.
- Experience implementing Service Control Policies (SCPs) and multi-account resilience governance.
- Experience supporting Orange and Purple Cloud PMO capabilities and Authorization Frameworks.
- Prior AWS Professional Services (ProServe) or consulting delivery experience with large enterprise customers.
- Hands-on experience with third-party resilience platforms such as Gremlin or LitmusChaos.
