The Boeing Company is currently seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect to join the team in Fairfax, VA; Hazelwood, MO; Huntington Beach, CA; Miami, FL; Tukwila, WA; Dallas, TX or Colorado Springs, CO.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a pivotal role in enabling Classified Cloud Platforms at Boeing, ensuring that our systems meet the highest security standards.
Position Responsibilities:
- Architect and design hybrid cloud solutions that integrate on-premises data centers with Microsoft Azure, including workload migration strategies, hybrid identity management, and multi-cloud interoperability where applicable
- Evaluate and implement network connectivity solutions such as Azure ExpressRoute, VPN gateways, and site-to-site connections to ensure secure and low-latency data transfer between on-premises and cloud environments
- Lead the implementation of hybrid cloud infrastructures, including provisioning resources, configuring virtual networks, storage, and compute services in Azure while aligning with on-premises systems
- Conduct assessments of existing on-premises infrastructure to identify opportunities for cloud adoption, hybrid extensions, or modernization, including cost-benefit analyses and risk evaluations
- Develop and enforce best practices for security, governance, and compliance in hybrid environments, incorporating tools like Azure Security Center, Azure Policy, and identity solutions (e.g., Azure AD Connect)
- Collaborate with development, operations, cloud platform, and security teams to define hybrid cloud strategies, troubleshoot issues, and optimize performance, scalability, and disaster recovery
- Stay current with emerging technologies in hybrid cloud, Azure updates, and industry trends to recommend innovative solutions that enhance system reliability and efficiency
- Document architectures, create technical blueprints, and provide mentorship to junior architects and engineers on hybrid cloud best practices
- Participate in proof-of-concept projects, vendor evaluations, and capacity planning to support long-term hybrid cloud roadmaps
Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- 5+ years of experience with IT Infrastructure Server, Systems Integration and Operations
- 5+ years of experience with Microsoft Azure services, including Azure Virtual Machines, Networking, Storage, and hybrid tools like Azure Stack or Azure Arc
- 5+ years of experience with on-premises systems, including servers, virtualization (e.g., VMware, Hyper-V), and basic data center management
- 5+ years of experience in designing, implementing and supporting wide area network/local area network environments
- 5+ years of experience developing automation testing & maintaining automation tools
- 5+ years of experience working in a cross functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership
Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
- Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- Current advanced certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert or Azure Hybrid Administrator Associate
- Experience with multi-cloud environments (e.g., integrating Azure with AWS or Google Cloud) or other hybrid tools like Azure Sentinel for security monitoring
- Experience with DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Azure DevOps), and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes on Azure AKS)
- Experience in regulated industries (e.g., finance, healthcare) with a focus on compliance standards like Risk Management Framework (RMF)
- Experience in leadership in large-scale hybrid cloud migrations or implementations, including cost optimization using tools like Azure Cost Management
