Senior Cloud-Native Software Engineer

Analog Devices Inc. is building cloud services and is seeking an experienced Senior Software Engineer – Cloud Native Applications with backend development expertise to join the Software and Security Group (SSG), preferably based in Limerick, Ireland. The Software Product Experience team in SSG is working to engineer every layer of the customer experience stack from integration with our device hardware and firmware, through APIs, to security of the cloud infrastructure and applications. As an active collaborator in this team, you will be working on developing the cloud services, customer features, and web applications for Analog Devices' cloud-based software products and solutions.
Beyond building solutions, this role is expected to be an active contributor to projects they work on and must be able to write documents, and test production code that impacts all Analog Devices customers.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Research & Evaluation of Cloud Technologies:
- This includes cloud platforms, edge development tools, and platforms.
- Makes build vs. buy/acquire recommendations for software cloud technologies.
- Scalability & production evaluation of internal and external solutions.
Implementation and integration of selected projects with our cloud platform:
- For both externally acquired and internally developed technologies.
- Provides implementation and guidance for internally developed projects.
- Develops frameworks and interface layers to tie the cloud software stack together.
Architecture and design guidance:
- Realize the overall architecture efforts for the production cloud software stack.
- Enable PaaS and SaaS options and go-to-market approaches for the completed solution.
- Report on state-of-the-market for cloud solutions in general and use that information to inform the cloud solution architecture.
The work is non-routine and complex, involving the application of advanced technical skills in many areas. A willingness to take risks with new ideas and generally tinker/experiment with software (and hardware) is a must. We are a team of generalists who understand the big picture but are very detail-oriented when necessary and understand how to lead and be led by each other every day.
QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of professional experience developing cloud-native solutions at scale with programming languages such as Node.js, JavaScript, Typescript, Python, Go, or C#.
- 3+ years of professional experience designing and testing customer-facing, scalable systems.
- A proven track record of collaboration, dealing with ambiguity, working with cross-organizational teams, and business acumen.
- BS/MS in Computer Science or relevant experience.
- Excellent written and verbal communication.
SKILLS
- Deep technical knowledge of connected systems, networking, infrastructure, cloud computing, and system integration.
- Demonstrable experience with continuous integration/deployment pipeline; Git, GitHub Actions, Jira, unit testing, etc.
- Strong experience with cloud providers and services; AWS, Azure, GCP, etc.
- Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills.
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, or other container technologies is desired.
WAYS TO STAND OUT
- AWS Certified Developer – Associate Certification (or similar).
- A history of using Go to create scalable, secure microservices.
- Experience creating entire architectures around AWS Serverless services, (DynamoDB, Lambda, API Gateway, SQS, EventBridge).
- Experience defining and developing cloud solutions using Infrastructure as Code (IaC); SST, CDK, CloudFormation.
