We are seeking a hands-on and detail-oriented Senior Cloud Monitoring Administrator with experience in monitoring and managing IT systems across Windows, Linux, VMware, and Cloud environments. The ideal candidate should have a solid understanding of ITIL processes, strong technical expertise in SolarWinds for infrastructure monitoring, and hand-on with Splunk for log analysis and event correlation.
This is a 24x7 support role requiring proactive system monitoring, incident response, and adherence to ITIL-based Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes. Exposure to AWS, TeamCity, and network fundamentals will be considered an added advantage.
What You'll Do:
Monitoring & Incident Management:
- Monitor infrastructure health, server performance, and application availability using SolarWinds dashboards and alerts.
- Respond to infrastructure alerts, perform initial triage, and take corrective actions to ensure high availability and SLA compliance.
- Follow ITIL-aligned Incident Management workflows for escalation, documentation, and resolution tracking.
- Use Splunk (SIEM) for log analysis, alert correlation, and event investigation to identify root causes.
- Contribute to Problem Management activities by identifying recurring issues and supporting long-term fixes.
Server & OS Administration:
- Monitor and maintain Windows and Linux servers for CPU, memory, and disk utilization.
- Perform first-level troubleshooting, including service restarts, log review, and system health checks.
- Use iDRAC (or equivalent remote access tools) for hardware diagnostics and remote reboot operations.
- Support scheduled patching and maintenance activities in accordance with Change Management practices.
Virtualization & Cloud Support:
- Monitor VMware ESXi hosts and virtual machines for uptime, performance, and resource utilization.
- Perform initial troubleshooting for host connectivity, datastore usage, and VM availability issues.
- Support AWS Cloud monitoring, performance reviews, and cost analysis as part of hybrid infrastructure operations.
Network & Infrastructure Monitoring:
- Monitor network performance, device availability, and link utilization using SolarWinds Network Performance Monitor (NPM).
- Understand basic networking concepts such as IP addressing, routing, switching, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Coordinate with network and infrastructure teams for escalations and root cause investigations.
What You'll Bring:
- Comprehensive understanding of the ITIL framework, with hands-on application of Incident, Problem, and Change Management processes.
- Strong experience with SolarWinds, including infrastructure and network monitoring, alert configuration, and performance optimization.
- Hands-on with Splunk (SIEM) for advanced log analysis, alert correlation, and event investigation.
- Solid grasp of network fundamentals, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, DNS, and connectivity troubleshooting.
- Practical experience in Windows Server and Linux administration, including system monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Working knowledge of VMware ESXi and vCenter, with the ability to monitor and maintain virtualized environments.
- Familiarity with remote server management tools such as iDRAC for hardware diagnostics.
- Strong documentation and communication skills, with experience using ticketing and ITSM tools like ServiceNow or Jira.
- Ability to work effectively in a 24x7 support and shift-based operational environment.
- AWS Cloud monitoring and troubleshooting experience, preferred
- Exposure to CI/CD tools such as TeamCity for automation and reporting, preferred
- ITIL Foundation Certification, preferred
- Basic scripting knowledge (e.g., PowerCLI, PowerShell, or Python) for reporting and automation , preferred
