Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer

We are a unique combination of a technology company and a trading house. Our mission is to turn data into market-beating trading strategies by using sophisticated mathematical models while helping to balance the power grid. We also started to build our own BESS (Battery Energy Storage System) sites. 

The Cloud Infrastructure team consists of top-class engineers who are specialists in different parts of the infrastructure, but they also have wide knowledge of the whole infrastructure. 

What you would work on? 

• You will join our Cloud Infrastructure team to boost expertise and performance. 
• We run all the workload in the cloud so your daily bread will be infrastructure on Microsoft Azure and sometimes even Oracle Cloud and AWS. 
• Although it’s infrastructure, it is driven by code and as such you’ll use Terraform, Terragrunt and Ansible to describe the desired states and Gitlab CI in combination with ArgoCD to build and deploy stuff. 
• Sometimes you’ll need to dig into issues and troubleshoot things. We use Grafana Cloud for this purpose with custom data sources. 
• We want to have our environments secure, so you’ll work with PKI built on Hashicorp Vault, cert-manager on K8S, IPsec VPNs from our branch offices and third-parties, firewalls (we use Fortinet devices), cloud identities to name a few. 
• With the BESS projects, we started to work on networking and industrial PCs as part of our daily job, so networking will be something you’ll see very often. 
• Sometimes we need to write a simple app for specific jobs, so your scripting skills won’t stay untouched. Python, GO, BASH and PowerShell are the languages we use the most on the Cloud Infrastructure team. 
• You’ll constantly work on infrastructure modernization to make the developers happy, infrastructure more secure and performant and business growing every day. 

What makes you a great candidate? 

• Perfect knowledge of networking principles such as routing, switching, VPNs, DNS, etc. is essential. Especially IPsec VPNs and BGP routing. 
• You have solid, almost an expert knowledge of Terraform. 
• Good knowledge of Kubernetes, ideally you have heard about Stateless Microservices and you have an idea of how things communicate in and out of the clusters. 
• You also know how to package apps with Helm and Kustomize. 
• You know how to write scripts in BASH/PowerShell, Python or GO and you are not afraid of other languages if necessary. 
• Not everything is a container nor immutable, so you should have some knowledge of Ansible or another configuration management tool for provisioning such systems. 
• To be able to troubleshoot the systems, you should have a deep knowledge of Linux operating systems because sometimes, you’ll need to tweak it a bit to make it more performant. 
• You have hands-on experience with Azure. We also use other cloud providers, but majority of the workload is in Azure. 
• You enjoy observing with Grafana stack (Loki, Grafana, Tempo, Mimir).
