    Job Summary

The Senior Cloud Engineer is a core member of the Cloud Adoption and Support team responsible for assisting in designing, building, and operating secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions across both Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS). This role combines deep hands‑on technical expertise with strong enablement capabilities, supporting internal development teams in adopting cloud services efficiently and consistently.

The successful candidate will develop multi‑cloud infrastructure patterns, build automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC), optimize modern application hosting platforms, and ensure solutions comply with security, governance, and regulatory requirements.

    Key Responsibilities

    Multi‑Cloud Architecture & Engineering

    • Assist with Design, build, and maintaining cloud infrastructure solutions across Azure and AWS using compute, networking, storage, serverless, and PaaS services.
    • Review and assist with architecting multi‑cloud solutions that meet enterprise requirements for scalability, security, governance, and cost efficiency.
    • Review and maintain reusable cloud patterns, landing zone components, and reference architectures for both clouds.
    • Support container-based workloads across AKS, EKS, ECS, Fargate, and platform services such as App Services and Lambda.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC) & Automation

    • Troubleshoot and maintain IaC using CDK, CDKTF and Terraform for Azure and AWS resources.
    • Review and assist in developing reusable IaC modules, wrappers, and libraries to ensure consistency and compliance.
    • Review and enhance automation pipelines for provisioning, configuration management, policy enforcement, and environmental consistency.

    CI/CD & Modern Application Delivery

    • Maintain CI/CD pipelines (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, AWS Code Pipeline) to automate container builds, testing, and deployments.
    • Integrate security scanning, compliance checks, and artifact management into the release process.

    Security, Identity & Compliance

    • Review and maintain authentication and authorization models across Azure AD and AWS IAM using RBAC, managed identities, roles, and policies.
    • Collaborate with cybersecurity, and compliance teams to conduct design reviews and ensure solutions adhere to regulatory standards.
    • Review cloud security best practices, and secure configuration baselines across both clouds.

    Operations, Monitoring & Optimization

    • Good understanding of end-to-end monitoring, logging, and alerting using Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, CloudWatch, or equivalent tools.
    • Ensure strong observability through traces, metrics, logs, dashboards, and runbooks.
    • Manage patching, upgrades, and lifecycle governance for container and cloud workloads.
    • Optimize workloads across Azure and AWS for performance, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency (FinOps mindset).
    • Ensure backups, operational readiness, and disaster recovery are in place across both cloud platforms.

    Developer Experience & Cloud Enablement

    • Partner with internal software engineering teams to guide them through cloud onboarding, best practices, and multi-cloud architectural decisions.
    • Create seamless developer experiences by integrating identity, networking, CI/CD, secrets management, and platform services.
    • Help teams adopt cloud-native patterns and modern application hosting across Azure and AWS.

    Required Qualifications

    • 5–7+ years of hands-on cloud engineering experience with both Azure and AWS in production environments.
    • Strong proficiency with IaC using CDK, Terraform and Bicep (Azure).
    • Hands-on experience with containerization and orchestration (AKS, EKS, ECS, Fargate).
    • Strong scripting skills (PowerShell, Python, Bash).
    • Deep knowledge of cloud networking, identity, and security principles.
    • Experience building CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Azure certifications (AZ‑104, AZ‑305, AZ‑400).
    • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect Associate/Professional, DevOps Engineer).
    • Experience in large enterprise or highly regulated environments (finance, banking, insurance).
    • Familiarity with FinOps, cloud governance frameworks, and policy‑as‑code tools.

    Core Competencies

    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Ability to work autonomously and drive cloud services end‑to‑end.
    • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across diverse engineering and business teams.
    • Customer‑focused mindset with strong commitment to enabling high‑performing developer teams.
    • Ability to mentor junior team members and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
