Senior Cloud Engineer

About the Role

As part of the Infrastructure Team, you will be part of a team that drives the implementation of core cloud infrastructure components and infrastructure/platform for cloud-native applications, creates tools and services that power our Engineering teams and collaborates with them influencing the design and delivery of our footprint.

About the Team

The Cloud Engineering team provides the infrastructure components that enable engineering productivity. You will work on building and maintaining cloud-native infrastructure through infrastructure as code, create toolsets and services for the delivery of applications and infrastructure components. Some of these components include container orchestration platforms like ECS, container provisioning engines, configuration and secrets management, provisioning Terraform modules, managing and updating database systems and others.

What You’ll Do

• Develop, test, deploy, improve and maintain our cloud-based infrastructure focusing on high availability, low latency, and cost-effectiveness.

• Work together with engineering teams to develop, test, debug and release scalable, resilient, compliant, and high available cloud-native applications quickly.

• Participate in technical discussions and code reviews to aid system design, analysis, and troubleshooting.

• Build and improve self-service cloud infrastructure tooling to assist engineers in delivering value quickly.

• Be an advocate of DevOps practices.

• Build, maintain, and own InfoSec compliance efforts by implementing and enforcing appropriate processes and standards across the organization.

What You’ll Bring

• Experience working with AWS.

• Understanding about cloud networking concepts like VPCs, load balancers etc.

• Hands-on experience with container technologies like Docker.

• Understanding about cloud security concepts, specifically IAM roles and policies, encryption keys, security groups etc.

• Experience working with infrastructure as code tools such as Terraform.

• Ability to code in at least one language/script language (e.g. Ruby, Python, Golang, Bash etc.)

• Some experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL is a nice to have.

• Some experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery pipelines using tools like Github Actions or CircleCI.
