Senior Cloud Engineer

Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: develop automation and leverage DevSecOps to enable innovative, effective and secure business processes.  This program encompasses technical, engineering, data analytics, cyber security, management, operational, logistical and administrative support to aid and advise the customer.

• Serve as one of the Plus3IT point of contact for the customer mission team
• Provide leadership for product design and development, establish strategies and high level plans for project execution
• Applying a DevSecOps approach to build, manage, and secure environment in support of the customer and their mission
• You will implement platform capabilities utilizing cloud-centric technologies
• You’ll recommend tools to help your clients manage and securely adopt containers
• Expand upon your skills in areas like Containerization​, Orchestration​, and Microservices​ while developing critical cloud platforms for clients
• Interact with the customer management team on a regular basis for all project customer communications
• Assist with development of documentation and other project artifacts
• Lead and participate within an DevSecOps and Engineering teams to sustain mission critical systems
• Conduct product review and evaluation sessions with team members and customer staff
• Lead effort to move a stand-alone, air-gapped, network into a cloud environment, such as AWS or Azure
• Consult with customer to gather and evaluate technical and business requirements and translate these requirements into technical solutions
• Develop and provide a project plan, system cost analysis, and timelines
• Develop, deploy, and maintain cloud services and Infrastructure as Code utilizing SecDevOps tooling and practices
• Provide technical expertise on cloud cluster computing techniques and technologies and expert advice to the program, and related cloud computing architectures
• Develop large data technologies, algorithms, and applications for clients
• Research, evaluate, and deploy advanced cloud computing systems and large data analytics for clients in research and production areas
• Work with massive data sets, complex algorithms, and team members from a variety of specialties to solve clients’ hardest problems
• Support a range of clients from front line analysts to researchers and senior leadership
• Work as a key contributor on a collaborative, and highly skilled team
• Experience with information extraction and analysis techniques, practices, and algorithms

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of 14 years of related technical experience required
• 4 additional years of related experience can be used in lieu of degree
• Active Top Secret security clearance is required
• Possess CISSP, CCSP, Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Certified Solutions Architect or equivalent certification
• Security Plus Certification

Desired Knowledge and Skills:

• Experience leveraging cloud environment and service-oriented architecture principles to define and own solution architecture (applications and data technologies)
• Azure experience preferred
• AWS/GCP nice to have
• Demonstrated ability to propose suggestions and best practices to optimize customers’ cloud presence, performance, security, and cost
• Experience and understanding of Networking, firewalls, Storage, PKI, LDAP, etc.
• Experience with IT system integration into customer networks
• Experience with Identity and Access Management basics: RBAC, Active Directory, Least privilege principles, etc.
• Experience with Integrated Development Environments (IDE) such as VSCode
• Need to know to use Git (forks, branches, PRs)
• Need to have understanding of basic DevOps and CI/CD Processes
• Forks, Branches, Pull Requests
• Working knowledge of Powershell and Bash shell scripting languages
• Ability to write Infrastructure As Code (Needs to have experience with at least one of the following
• Terraform or Bicep experience 
• Cloud Formation or ARM template experience
• Understanding or JSON and YAML file\data formats
