Senior Cloud Developer

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Senior Cloud Developer with deep expertise in Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and serverless architecture to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will take a lead role in designing, developing, and maintaining complex cloud-based solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform, leveraging their in-depth knowledge of Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and serverless computing paradigms. You will also be expected to provide technical guidance and mentorship to other developers within the team.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Solution Design and Architecture:
   • Lead the collaboration with cross-functional teams to gather requirements and design scalable, robust, and reliable cloud solutions using Azure API Management, and services like Service Bus, Logic Apps, and Azure Functions.
   • Create and validate high-level architecture diagrams, technical specifications, and design documentation for proposed solutions, ensuring alignment with enterprise standards.
   • Act as a technical subject matter expert, providing architectural recommendations to the Cloud Solution Architect.
2. Azure Services Development:
   • Design, develop, and deploy complex Azure Logic Apps to integrate various services and applications and/or automate critical business processes.
   • Create advanced Azure Functions using appropriate languages (C#, Python, JavaScript, etc.) to handle high-volume event-driven scenarios and microservices architecture.
   • Implement complex messaging patterns and event-driven architectures using Azure Service Bus to ensure efficient and reliable communication between components.
3. Serverless Architecture:
   • Leverage serverless computing concepts to build highly available, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
   • Drive the optimization of Azure Functions and other serverless technologies to minimize operational overhead while maximizing performance and cost-efficiency.
4. Integration and APIs:
   • Lead the integration of disparate systems, applications, and data sources using Azure Logic Apps, Azure Functions, Service Bus or other, ensuring seamless data flow and communication.
   • Develop and maintain robust RESTful APIs and microservices to facilitate data exchange between different components, ensuring strict adherence to API standards.
5. Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
   • Design and implement robust monitoring, logging, and alerting solutions to proactively identify and address issues within the Azure services.
   • Lead the diagnosis and resolution of performance bottlenecks, scalability concerns, and other complex technical challenges in Azure solutions.
6. Security and Compliance:
   • Implement and enforce security best practices to ensure data protection, access control, and compliance with industry standards and regulations.
   • Perform regular security assessments, code reviews, and audits to identify and mitigate potential vulnerabilities.
7. Continuous Integration and Deployment:
   • Work within a DevOps environment to establish and optimize CI/CD pipelines for deploying Azure solutions using tools like Azure DevOps.
   • Champion automation and standardisation of deployment processes across the development team.

Skillset and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Developer Associate or Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect are a plus.
• Proven experience in designing, developing, and deploying solutions on the Microsoft Azure platform.
• Expert proficiency in Service Bus, Logic Apps, Azure Functions, and serverless architecture.
• Strong programming skills in languages like C#, Python, or JavaScript for serverless development.
• Solid understanding of event-driven architectures, messaging patterns, and asynchronous processing.
• Hands-on experience with integration techniques, APIs, and data transformation.
• Deep knowledge of Azure security best practices and identity management.
• Familiarity with DevOps practices and tools like Azure DevOps.
• Familiar with networking concepts, including VPN, DNS, firewalls, and routing.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose and troubleshoot complex cloud-related issues.
