Torch Technologies is seeking a skilled Senior Cloud Architect to design, implement, and support cloud infrastructure and related services. This role requires expertise in cloud provisioning, deployment, troubleshooting, and performance optimization to ensure secure, compliant, and resilient environments that meet customer and program needs.
As a Senior Level Cloud Architect your duties will include but are not limited to the following:
Design, build, and oversee multi-cloud strategies across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
Define and implement network topologies, connectivity solutions, and service integrations.
Evaluate and balance tradeoffs between cost, performance, and resilience.
Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and architectural governance to engineering teams.
Ensure cloud solutions adhere to security, compliance, and operational standards.
Stay current on emerging cloud technologies and recommend adoption strategies
Define network topologies, connectivity, and service integrations.
Balance cost, performance, and resilience tradeoffs.
Provide technical leadership and architectural governance.
Required Qualifications:
- US Citizenship.
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree and 9+ years of experience.
- Clearance Requirements: Active or eligible for DoD Security Clearance.
- Proven experience architecting solutions across AWS, Azure, and GCP.
- Strong knowledge of cloud networking, service integration, and enterprise-scale design.
- Demonstrated leadership in providing architectural direction and governance.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Hands-on experience designing, configuring, and maintaining DoD IL5 and IL6 cloud connections, including secure networking between on-prem DoD environments and approved cloud regions.
- Proven ability to set up IL5/IL6-compliant connectivity, such as:
- Secure Site-to-Site VPNs
- Direct Connect (AWS GovCloud)
- ExpressRoute (Azure Gov & Azure Secret)
- High-side/low-side enclave connectivity
- Boundary security and enclave segmentation
- ·Experience comparing cloud service providers for IL5/IL6 workloads, including:
- AWS GovCloud vs. Azure Government vs. on-prem classified solutions
- Pricing models, compute/storage/networking cost breakdowns
- Total cost of ownership (TCO) analysis
- Cost optimization strictly within IL5/IL6 constraints
- Demonstrated ability to perform technical configuration for IL5/IL6 workloads, including:
- Secure VPC/VNET design
- Routing, subnets, firewalls, and boundary protections
- FIPS 140-2 cryptography, KMS/HSM usage
- Identity integration (CAC/PIV, MFA, privileged access)
- Strong understanding of DoD SRG, RMF, DISA STIGs, FedRAMP High, and ATO requirements for IL5 and IL6 environments.
- Ability to generate documentation, diagrams, and comparison reports supporting architecture decisions, cost evaluations, and secure design patterns.
- Experience working directly with ISSOs, AOs, and cybersecurity teams on ATO packages, continuous monitoring, and security assessment artifacts.
- Familiarity with audit logging, monitoring, and incident response processes for IL5/IL6 systems using approved tooling (e.g., CloudWatch Gov, Azure Gov Monitor, classified SIEMs).
- Ability to translate mission requirements into secure, cost-efficient IL5/IL6 cloud architectures.
