Senior Cloud Architect / Tech Lead

Currently, we are looking for a Senior Cloud Architect / Tech Lead (Azure Virtual Desktop) to join our team in Finland. 
As a Senior Cloud Architect / Tech Lead, you play a key role in delivering cloud-native solutions for our customers while driving technical excellence across Nordcloud engagements. This role belongs to the Tech Lead Track, combining hands-on engineering with architectural leadership, customer advisory, and team enablement. You will lead the design and implementation of Azure-based platforms with deep specialization in Azure Virtual Desktop (AVD), while contributing to Nordcloud’s technical community and helping customers advance their cloud maturity.

Your daily responsibilities:

• Lead end to end Azure and AVD solution architecture across identity, networking, governance, security, cost, and operational models.
• Ensure architectures meet business and non functional requirements (scalability, resilience, performance, security).
• Produce architecture artefacts aligned with Nordcloud’s standards and landing zone patterns.
• Provide technical direction across multi disciplinary delivery teams, ensuring quality and consistency.
• Guide implementation of AVD host pools, image pipelines, FSLogix strategy, scaling logic, networking, monitoring, and landing zone integrations.
• Support pre sales activities with Solution Architects, including scoping, estimations, and high level solution design.
• Contribute directly to implementation through IaC (Terraform/Bicep), automation, DevOps pipelines, and platform engineering.
• Troubleshoot complex architecture and platform issues and drive root cause understanding.

Your key skills:

• 5+ years hands on experience designing Azure architectures for enterprise environments.
• Deep expertise in Azure Virtual Desktop (workspace design, host pools, FSLogix, image lifecycle, networking, scaling, monitoring).
• Strong Azure skills across identity (Entra ID), governance, RBAC, networking, security, and automation.
• Hands on proficiency with Terraform or Bicep; CI/CD; PowerShell; DevOps tooling.
• Strong understanding of cloud governance, cost management, and platform operations.
• Fluent communication skills in English and Finnish
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills in customer facing settings.
• Ability to lead by influence, mentor others, and proactively resolve blockers.
• Strong problem-solving capability and pragmatic decision making.

The successful candidate is expected to go through a security clearance.
