Senior Clinical Project Manager

The Role

As a Senior Clinical Project Manager, you will independently lead and deliver medium to large, multi‑regional clinical studies, partnering closely with clinical teams and customers to bring new therapies to market faster. You will hold end‑to‑end responsibility for study delivery in line with contractual requirements and SOPs, acting as the primary customer contact and leading cross‑functional teams to achieve milestones on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards, while driving strong financial and customer outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and contribute to bid defence activities in partnership with Business Development for multi‑service, multi‑country, and/or multi‑regional studies
- Translate project strategy into clear, executable operational plans
- Develop and maintain integrated study management plans with the core project team
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight to ensure delivery of clinical studies in line with scope, timelines, quality, and cost expectations
- Lead, motivate and manage cross‑functional project teams to achieve agreed objectives and milestones
- Act as the primary point of contact for customers, owning and strengthening key client relationships
- Monitor progress against contractual obligations and proactively communicate project status, risks, and solutions to internal and external stakeholders
- Manage project risks, issues, and contingencies, leading problem‑solving and resolution efforts
- Ensure project quality by identifying risks, responding to issues, and implementing corrective and preventive action plans
- Drive financial success through forecasting, revenue acceleration opportunities and change control management
- Identify changes in scope and manage the change control process effectively
- Capture and share lessons learned and best practices to support continuous improvement
- Support staff development through mentoring, coaching and performance feedback
- Act as a change advocate, adopting and promoting corporate initiatives
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences or a related field
- Minimum 10 years of clinical research experience, including at least 6 years in clinical project management
- Minimum 5 years’ experience delivering healthy volunteer (Phase I) studies
- Proven experience managing medium to large, multi‑regional, or full‑service clinical trials
- Strong working knowledge of ICH‑GCP and applicable local regulatory requirements

- Strong understanding of clinical trial conduct, protocols, and therapeutic areas
- Ability to lead through others, drive results, manage performance and work effectively across functions and geographies
- Excellent written, verbal and presentation skills; strong negotiation and customer management capability
- Proactive, analytical, and solutions‑focused approach
- Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and complex timelines
- Experience managing project financials, forecasts, and contractual obligations
- High attention to detail, continuous improvement mindset and learning agility
- Proficiency with MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Strong relationship‑building skills with clients, peers, and stakeholders
