About the Opportunity

Mendaera is looking for a Senior Clinical Engineer to help define product requirements and conduct testing to demonstrate safe and effective use of the company’s products and services. The position is part of the Product team and will collaborate closely with Commercial and Engineering Teams. The annual salary range for this role is $173,000 - $200,000. 

About You

Senior Clinical Engineer responsibilities include:

  • Develop in-depth clinical knowledge of clinical anatomies, procedures, and environments for which the company’s products and services are to be used 
  • Become an expert on the clinical use of the Mendaera product and support use of the Mendaera product at clinical sites 
  • Collaborate with Commercial teams to build out clinical onboarding and utilization pathways
  • Lead customer discovery efforts to uncover unmet clinical needs, identify pain points, and translate insights into product, training, and commercial strategy
  • Understand user needs and work with cross-functional teams to translate user and business requirements into design requirements and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering to drive clinical input into product design and development 
  • Develop test methods, models, and metrics to assess clinical performance and usability of company’s products 
  • Assess and document clinical risks, and identify appropriate mitigations
  • Own and deliver Clinical Engineering team deliverables throughout the project’s lifecycle
  • Author protocols, execute testing, and report results for preclinical, usability, and validation studies for regulatory submission
  • Define and document procedure workflows associated with use of the company’s products

  • Demonstrated strong executive presence and credibility in interactions with external stakeholders
  • Demonstrated experience collaborating with technical partners
  • Demonstrated experience performing preclinical, usability, and validation studies for regulatory submission
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; highly-effective presentation skills
  • Versatility and ability to operate in a small-team environment
  • Strong technical background; advanced technical degree preferred
  • At least 3 years of work experience in the medical device industry

Work Expectations:

  • Ability to travel for user engagements (clinical sites, conferences)
  • Comfort working with preclinical tissue models
