At ICON Strategic Solutions, you will work in a sponsor-dedicated model, supported by ICON’s global expertise.
As the world’s largest FSP organisation, with over 90 sponsor partnerships, we offer stability, career development and a collaborative environment where your work contributes to the development of treatments that benefit patients worldwide.
As a Senior Clinical Data Scientist at ICON, you will analyse clinical trial data and support the statistical analysis process to ensure high-quality results.
In this role, you will have the opportunity to transform complex clinical and real-world data into intuitive applications and analytical solutions that help answer meaningful clinical questions and support evidence-based decision-making. You will work alongside statisticians, data managers, programmers and clinical colleagues, while helping shape how we use R and modern analytical technologies across our projects.
What You Will Do:
- Design and develop engaging R Shiny applications, dashboards and visualisations to support clinical study monitoring, data review, safety analysis and evidence generation.
- Use R and advanced statistical techniques to transform complex clinical and real-world datasets into meaningful and accessible insights.
- Build scalable, modular and well-documented solutions, while continuously improving performance, usability and user experience.
- Partner with cross-functional colleagues to ensure solutions follow relevant CDISC standards, regulatory requirements and internal quality standards.
- Share your expertise in R and R Shiny, contribute to best practices and automation initiatives, and support the development of colleagues across the team.
Your Profile:
- Around 5+ years of relevant experience in statistical programming, clinical data analysis, Real World Evidence/HTA, Medical Affairs or evidence generation, ideally within a pharmaceutical, biotech or CRO environment.
- Strong hands-on experience with R and R Shiny, including application development, interactive dashboards, visualisation and tools such as ggplot2 or Plotly.
- Good knowledge of the broader R ecosystem, which may include R packages, Git, CRAN, data wrangling and statistical methodologies.
- Experience working with clinical or healthcare data. Knowledge of CDISC standards such as SDTM and ADaM, TLFs, or Phase IIIb/IV clinical trials would be particularly valuable.
- A degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Life Sciences or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience. Knowledge of Python, SAS, cloud technologies, Posit Connect/Shiny Server or Real World Data is welcome but not essential.
We know that great candidates don’t always meet every requirement listed in a job description. If you are excited about the opportunity and believe your experience could bring value to the team, we encourage you to apply.
Employment with ICON is contingent upon having the legal right to work in the country where the role is based.
